You seem to be taking this personally when I don't think that was the intention.
For my part, I don't like +/- and never have. I'll even tell you why. The first year ESPN added +/- to their boxscores, Kevin Durant finished the year with the worst +/- in the league. He was the best player on the worst team (this was the last year the Sonics were in Seattle) so naturally he played the most minutes of anyone on that team. Similar to scoring wins and losses for pitchers in baseball, I think +/- is a team stat masquerading as an individual stat and it just doesn't tell us anything useful.
I think it's fair of you to ask the question whether it means anything and Kevin being on the floor while the Lakers made a big run could be significant or not. Considering it was Lebron who lit us up and if Huerter is guarding Lebron than something has gone seriously wrong with our defensive scheme, I don't think it's significant in this case. Generally though I think most people tend to use +/- when it confirms what they already believe and ignore it when it doesn't.
Maybe don’t cape extra hard for Len after a game where he was sorta terrible? These rotational decisions are a joke so far this season. Overplaying your starters when you have your full bench is insane to start the year. Changing rotation game to game is also silly. Trying to play 3 “centers” is also silly (meaning just stick with Len behind Sabonis, if it’s not broke don’t fix it. Instead they’re subbing Lyles as small ball center for Len early in 2nd).
Team is not gonna build continuity if you change up rotations every game.
I don't like Murray at the 4. We need another 5 same story as last year.
AD wasn’t in the game when the Lakers had their run though. Length has nothing to do with it unless you’re of the opinion that having LeBron drain contested jumpers over two wings instead of just Keegan Murray would have been better somehow?they went with a Jackson Hayes, AD and LeBron front line and the Kings folded. It can’t be overstated how much this team struggles with length. Right now we have no answer

I didn’t get to catch this game. Judging by the results and some of the comments, probably good that I didn’t.
Keon didn’t deserve to get DNPd though. That’s a head scratcher
We ate Hayes for breakfast. And as Tetsu said, Bron went supernova with AD on the sideline. By definition, that's them going small. Regardless, Bron could have had 4 6th graders on the floor with him and it wouldn't have mattered. He just simply beat good defense over and over and over again
Clearly, the only reason Bron went supernova, was because Hayes was in the game over AD
Okay I withdraw my point. I thought the line-up with the big run had Hayes and Davis. As I said I was flipping back and forth with football.
this line up was +31
L. James - D. Russell - R. Hachimura - J. Hayes - D. Knecht
while the line-up I mentioned was -2
L. James - A. Davis - G. Vincent - J. Hayes - M. Christie
I do think that +\- does serve some purpose if used in context/ accounting for longer spans of time than a single game but, yeah, taking these numbers out of context from one game just serves no purposeI stand by my statement that the existence of +/- only makes us dumber. Without it people would actually have to make a real argument instead of citing a meaningless number. But I feel the same way about AI and the rest of the world has adopted that as the way of the future so I guess that makes me the old man shouting at clouds.
It really might be on the Mt Rushmore of Kings opponent explosions next to Steph Game 7 and Klay’s 37 point third quarter.I don't overly disagree with your points here, but +/- just doesn't matter and especially not in this game. Bron just took over the game by himself and whoever was with him on LAL is going to look great and everyone on our side out there is going to look bad. I don't think we have to go further than a HOF player turned back the clock for 4 minutes and did something incredible.
while I was jumping back and forth between Kings and Football. Hayes +24 would indicate we had trouble with length. But you keep telling yourself it’s not a problem.
btw it’s possible LeBron going off had something to do with not having enough long defenders is it not?

the Kings could have definitely done a bit more to stem momentum before it got to the point it did but by the third or fourth straight Lakers basket you could just sorta feel Lebron through the screen.

yes and no. Rui had a pretty good game also.
and it’s pretty much a continuation of a trend LeBron or not.

Which goes back to the Keon question. Keegan is defending his ass off, looks like a legit all defensive talent, but he can't lock down everybody. Keon would take a lot of pressure off him
