Gee, looks like he's been doing what was asked. Love he and Keon out there together. You can see the pressure.

*Adding Cardwell too*

It's almost like when you put good defenders on the floor, you all of a sudden start playing good defense. Who knew?

Which makes this whole thing all the more frustrating. You probably could see LaVine/Domas duo be successful with just 30+ MPG and a steady dose of Carter/Keon/Keegan/Nique around them.

I see Carter still has the wild drive to the hoop game down pat.

Got to be better decision making there, but I still stand on the point that the fact he's getting paint touches, pretty much whenever he wants, is an incredibly valuable and rare skill in the NBA. You have to be able to create the right play from breaking down the defense, but those dudes are worth their weight in gold.

Tonight, he's created mostly positive plays from his penetration. That's the ticket going forward for him offensively.

DeRozan feels like the odd one out here. Both he and LaVine have shown more willingness to defend, but DeRozan’s caught in that tough tweener spot, not quite quick enough to stay in front of guards and wings, yet not strong or big enough to handle most 4s.

LaVine’s defensive issues, on the other hand, could be covered up a bit with Keon or Nique around him.

DeRozan’s contract isn’t as huge, roughly in line with Keegan’s new deal, so there might be some teams out there willing to make a move that helps rebalance the Kings’ roster.
