[Game] Kings @ Lakers 10/17/2024 7:30 PM Pacific 10:30PM Eastern

You can always rely on Doug to do his best to one-up the Lakers, in any scenario.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I don't care if it's playoffs, regular season, preseason, summer league, rec league, YMCA league, 3-on-3, HORSE, hopscotch, checkers, T-ball, dominoes, go fish or a sack race, I want the Kings to beat the gd lakers. Beat 'em down, beat 'em down, beat 'em down!

I may be Off That Narcotic™ but, as the saying goes: love fades. Hate endures.

They posted this to highlight Saric but look at that freaking pass by Nique.
Nique really surprised me. Going up against players like CP3 and Luka, he never seemed rattled. He stayed patient with his game, extending plays to find the best possible options. I like his chances of cracking the starting lineup as a rookie.

One definite advantage he has being older is he doesn't need any physical development. He isn't getting picked on by vets, that's for sure.

-Nique performed about as well as we could ever hope in the off-season programing. Has to show it when the minutes count, but man he looks special and ready for 25+ MPG from day 1.

-Keon BACK. Not just the 6-9 from 3 performance, but how he got those shots too. A lot of dribble creation into those looks. Looked like the Keon we know and love on defense too, being very active in passing lanes.

-Carter got caught on that last shot by Knecht, but I thought played a solid game. Right now, he breaks the defense down and gets paint touches better than anyone on the team... seriously. While the decision making isn't always there, that's a skill that needs to be valued by this org and not thrown away. Continues to be one of the better defenders on the team.

-IJ is significantly better than Saric and I don't think it's close. If we actually value defense like Christie says, Saric should not be playing over IJ.

-Dennis finally had a breakout game in a Kings uni. Looked comfortable for the first time running the offense in the 2H and got the shot going. That's the guy who needs to show up consistently if this team wants any shot at winning.

-LaVine really strong 1Q, cooled off in the 2nd. He's been the Kings best player fairly easily and has shown quite a bit of effort on D.

-Cardwell had 2 really strong stints tonight in his 12 minutes. He just looks good on defense and had a few possessions where he got switched on Reaves, didn't get beat and forced a miss. That's the kind of stuff he showed in college where he ends up being switchable 1-5.

Nique should well be our back up point especially when paired with Keon who gives us the ability to defend quicker point guards.

Had we signed Keon and started Nigue and Keon I might have renewed my season tickets or at least bought a 10 game package.

Personally, i think this is really cool and great for morale. I can’t wait to see the young fellas and their highlights, Keon Ellis included. Confidence can be shaken at times no matter how long you’ve been at it, and what your star level status is, so, i do love seeing them do well tonight whether it “counts” or not.

*Adding Cardwell too*

It's almost like when you put good defenders on the floor, you all of a sudden start playing good defense. Who knew?

Which makes this whole thing all the more frustrating. You probably could see LaVine/Domas duo be successful with just 30+ MPG and a steady dose of Carter/Keon/Keegan/Nique around them.
Absolutely! I think there’s potential that it can and will happen, too. I don’t look at those preseason rotations and think that’s what we’ll be or do at all. Get DeMar outta here to another team and things suddenly make a lot more sense IMO

I think this team can be surprisly good if Christie has the cajones to start Keon at SG (bring DDR off the bench).

Pair that with playing Nique, IJ, DC, and Maxime big minutes this year and the Kings can be fun and exciting to watch.
You would have Zach come off the bench. Which would not be horrible if he was pared with Sabonis and ran 5 straight dribble hand offs.

Schroder put up 25? Would have never known based on this thread. Nice to see him get it going

Edit: Hopefully these vibes continue when I get to LA in December to see the Kings defeat them in their own building.
Sooooooooo...what you're essentially trying to say here is that, on December 28, 2025, when/if we add one to the column on the right, it'll be all your fault???? Gotcha!!! :p:p:p
