a slow day today, nothing much going on - boring
------------------------------------------------------------------------
On January 25th 2005 kings beat Nets 113 - 93 to improve to 28 - 12 at that time. Brad lead the kings with 31/12/5, pedja had 25/5, Mobley had 20/7/10 and Mike had 19/4/10. kings shot better than 55% and were + 12 in rebounding.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings 17 - 24 or 7 games under .500 right in the middle of this miserable, neverending season. Losing streak up to 3 and 0-3 on this trip, and considering all the other things - more rainy days to come. At this point - tanking - might be a considerable option because it would take more than miracle to get to the PO and that would only ruin our chances of a decent draft pick. Only thing left is to beat lakers 3 more times.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
What can we talk about - let me see. Any ideas ? One could write a book just about this day because there are so many aspects to be considered.

I never wanted Ron Artest but I could never imagine;) that he would prove me right before he even played a game. The latin proverb Vulpes pilum mutat, non mores! - has been true since the beginning of human kind and hasn't really failed yet. He still might end up playing here even though he doesn't deserve it - bu he will never have my support because this is not the best situation for him and I agree. He should continue screwing up somwhere else because we already have enough to deal with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some people started comparing this to the Webber situation. How dare You ? Nothing more to add to that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This deal was around for a while and obviously the question to ask is why now ? Why waste 40 games of the season to do this. Only explanation that i have to offer is that both GMs got way beyond desperate because the values of both players were at the all time low and still Artest managed to lower it more. he really is good.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
All this years I was believing that Kings are a classy organisation. For me - it ended tonight. Now, I am sure that they did not mean for things to go this way but they should have covered all thier bases. This ended up being low that even Lakers wouldn't do it. Trades are part of the game, they happen all the time and life goes on. The way that pedja was treated today is below any standard. I don't care what people thing about Pedja at this point in time. He has given a lot in the last 7.5 years. It was time to go separate ways but he deserved to be treated beatter than a "lost piece of luggage." Maybe we do deserve the worst from Ron Artest.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Speaking of classy - things around here have been really great all day (with minor exceptions). the way that people have been conducting around here deserved praises. Kings fans proved yet again to be above standards. Somebody mentioned the possibility that Pedja might be boed the next time he plays at ARCO as an opposing player. Not going to happen. Are You insane ? These fans are pretty much the only classy thing that is left around here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pedja is gone - simple as that. He isn't wanted here anymore and no man with a fraction of pride left would just let this go. It is not a big deal really because it was going to happen one way or the other. The problem is that Artest might be the only thing that we can get now. We already lost - either the dignity or nothing in the return for a player. the way that we "disposed" Vlade, Webber and Pedja is just beyond comprehension for me. We don't deserve better.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
What will happen tomorow ? Will Kings promis Artest things - just to get him to play for "unworthy" Kings ? Are we going to go on our knees and beg ? Are we going to guarantee him 30 shots a night ? Are the Kings fans and players going to be required to wear "his" clothes, and listen to his music ? What else is there to talk ? Does he at this point deserve a welcome ? You tell me because I appearently don't get things these days.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings lost again today but this time I won't blame them. they player hard and were 5-6 rebounds away from winning. I am sure that they were affeced by things that went on today. Even another career high by Mike Bibby wasn't enough mainly because brad was more affected from things that pedja would be. Sixers were beatable by a medicre team. that is not us anymore.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonight we play knicks and Knicks suck - they do. Still thre is no reason for them to lose. It is a 4th game in the 5 days and lags are heavy and minds probably too. Knicks are desperate for a win and sadly we are thei best bet.
It might be a long day tomorow too and we might have another deal done and retracted. hard to focus. Maybe, just maybe kings will realize that they are up against the wall and offer better resistance. Maybe we can win this one.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - it is a disgrace that his yet another career night has be overshadowed but this rag. Do it again Mike
Brad - don't worry man - won't get worse. jerome might "own" him tonight
Pedja - I don't think he will play but he might make it in the 4th quarter again. DNP - AD
SAR - hot healthy - not even close
Bonzi - how much longer ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin - played well after a miny slump
Cisco - still making dumb desisions
KT - I was expecting more
Skinner - mummy
Hart - he is still here
Corliss - another DNP - CD
Sampson - whatever
----------------------------------------------------------------------
RA - You might be the next
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Knicks suck but it will not mean much tonight. Expect james to get his trash bag ready. many candidates for TDM award. I will go with Lee tonight. Could be anyone else though

Piksi, the more I read, the more I agree. I agree with everything you said whole-heartedly. Sad, sad day.

I wonder if the Maloofs even realize how the fans and players are beginning to view them at this point?

I feel bad for the players (all on both teams NOT named Artest.)

GO KINGS! we are all cheering for you!

And that's the bottom line.

God, this sucks...and the Kings may be hamstrung for the remainder of the road-trip as the drama unfolds. I've decided the 6 out front should be a giant K. Not for Kings, but for Keystone Kops because the travesty that has marked the handling of our Kings this year has been nothing more than bad slap-stick...

Okay, dancers. Don your gold lamé sleazy outfits and kick!

Well Kings have a lot of motive to win tonight. We should win because:
1)They must take every win they can if they want to reach playoffs
2)Knicks suck,they have just 13 wins,less than 50% at home
3)They won in Arco,we need revenge
4)All this stuff about Peja-Artest trade.

Also,if Peja is going to play tonight I hope he'll do well.
Any news about Peja's playing?

I can't believe Brad played like he lost his brother in a fire or something. You get paid millions of dollars, play like it dammit. This goes for the rest of the team. NBA like any other sport is a business, feelings will get hurt, grow up and move on. Blame lack of responsiblity if anything and not things you can't control. The Kings players need not listen to the news or any other comments and play for the love of the game.

Now Kick the Knick's butts

Last I heard he was with the team and apparently expected to play, but that's just a tough tough situation to put the guy, or the rest of the team, through. Not only with the borderline humiliating events of yesterday lingering in the air like a rotten egg, but also with continued uncertainty if it won't be repeated tonight or tommorow. Not really sure its fair to anyone to ask him to go in those circumstances.

I have a meeting tonight (just found out) I may only be able to catch glimpses of the game and keep up with the score, so y'all try to keep the thread active so i can read it later tonight and get a good feel for the game. thanks in advance.

Almost gametime

I will be curious to see how the team plays today. Possibly a boost now that this is behind them, not sure. I will be watching Miller, hope he rebounds from yesterdays awful game.

GO KINGS!!!

Is it just me or do the cameras seem farther away or something in that arean. Something is weird watching this game. Different angle or something.
MSG has very strange dimensions, and being inside it is unliked any other arena I've been to. I had seats in the upper deck for last year's Knick/Kings game and I was dizzy.
