Wonder what the tyreke haters say about this game... let me guess he didnt play PG... Guess what yes he did beno was the off guard.

I don't post here too often but all I gotta say after that game is TYREEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you either have that kind of explosiveness or you don't--he just doesn't have it.
There are workouts that improve vertical leap and explosiveness. He may not have ever needed to have those kinds of hops playing at Rider, but he's going to need them in the NBA.

Who wudda thunk? Great, great win.

Tyreke continues to impress.

Udoka was huge on defense.

Greene was fantastic in limited minutes! Yippee! Greene does exist!

All of them battled like crazy.

Thompson played great (except again he missed on a fantastic feed by Tyreke)

Great coaching staff. The zone was huge. 99.999% of the spectators out there thought the Kings were going to lose, but the Kings players were the 0.001% that believed they wouldn't.

Well tyreke had back to back dunks, so much for him not dunking

Open court, none too far over the rim one handers however. Think we already knew he could dunk -- he did it at least once in either the preseason or summer league game I watched. Its more a question of the ease or explosiveness of it.

Also BTW not terribly significant if he can play like he did tonight.

And my selection on draft day for him being Rookie of the Year is looking mighty fine...:D

Okay, here's the deal. You can say that IF and ONLY if you follow it immediately by grabbing something purple, standing up and hopping in a counter-clockwise circle three times on one foot and then three times on the other foot...all the time chanting "no jinx, no jinx, no jinx here."

Great win and great heart by the team tonight. I give a lot of credit to Westphal for this game as well. You can tell the team buys into what he's selling. They trust him and work for him.

Spencer was disappointing. I can only think he was too enamored at watching his idol (Okur) tonight.:p

Now its back home for a little small ball with Nellie. Lets go guys...how bout a win streak!!!!!

:D I promise..:D

So happy about the win, our boys played fantastic.

Very good ball movement and lot of heart and hustle.

Very happy to see Greene come in and have a positive effect. :)

Udoku also surprised me, very nice off the bench.

With arms that long who needs to jump! ;)

Cant say enough about this game.

Evans showed us that he is a PG tonight. beautiful passes, very solid defense, leadership and poise.

Udoka.. Wow, this guy was a great pickup. he knows his role, he plays EXCELLENT defense and he spreads the floor very nicely. I loved his vet presence tonight.

JT somehow magically became the best passing big man in the league in over the offseason. Great rebounding and D tonight from JT.

Beno is proving alot of people wrong on opinions of him.. including myself.

K9 had his best game in like 5 years.

Donte Greene played awesome in his limited minutes. he showed great poise and that jumper is looking silky smooth.

Paul Westphal. Won this game for us. beautiful subs, timeouts, defensive schemes(actually props to coach Eyen for suggesting the 2-3 zone, which absolutely destroyed the jazz).. PW kept his team together all the way to the end and earned the kings the best game ive seen in a cuple years from us.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Kings!!!

Sure, you can have the credit.

You do realize, of course, that you are now responsible for the Kings karma. You have to do the same thing every time. If we lose, it is your fault.

the burden of credit for wins is not without its price.

;)

Heh heh, well said. The mantle just got heavier..:D

And the coaching staff actually communicated with each other! Imagine!!!

Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas any more.

I have to say that I am actually starting to appreciate Kenny Thomas. He never pouted when he definitely could have. Today I saw him teachin te young kids and actually smiling. He looks like he is having fun for the first time in a longtime.

Very nice game. Very entertaining game. And, we won! Props to Greene for a very nice second quarter. I noticed him on the floor, and thats an improvement. Nice game by Udoka. He came in and did what Mason was suspossed to do. He reminded me a little bit of Christie. Maybe it was the bald head. Nice game by Thompson. He didn't score a lot, and didn't really have that many shots. But he did a lot of the little things that get you a win. Especially grabbing that rebound at the end. Big time rebound.

Evans rose to the occasion tonight. He became a little flustered at the end of the game, but he wasn't the only one. Utah really stepped up their defense like everyone knew they would. But kudo's to Westphal for calling timely time outs and calming down the team. He had the team believing they could win the game.

One last thing. In the post game interview. When Westphal was asked about going to the zone defense, and how it seemed to turn the game around at that point. He rightly gave credit to his assistant coach for making the call. Can anyone here imagine Reggie Theus doing that? Thats the difference between being comfortable with yourself and not. Westphal doesn't need to toot his own horn. Trust me, that makes a difference with the players if your trying to earn their trust. All in all, a very good effort and a lot of fun to watch. I think this is a team, that on any given night, can repeat this kind of performance. It kinda makes me nervous. I might actually start to believe were going to win. The butterfly's are back!

There's a link to the full article in the Kings News Link, but you gotta love this quote from Westphal:

“It shows a lot about the heart of our team. It’s really hard for anybody to come in here and get a win. The fact that we got off to a bad start and then still found a way to win against a very good team, it makes me feel very proud of those guys.”

And the best part? You know he means it!
