And I didn't say they are always effective. I didn't say it was perfect. I just think saying they can't play together suggests they .. can't. Which they can. They have. They won tonight playing together.

And they've lost a lot too. Also, this was the jazz minus favors for chrissakes.

But the other guy's inability to shoot or defend is totally ok because he has a .. 10% higher entry pass success rate? 20%? it realistically can't be much higher than that.

Describing the struggles as "mild" are understating them by an order of magnitude... As far as this specific game is concerned, we had to go to overtime because we didn't have anyone on the court that could get the ball to DeMarcus Cousins in the last 5-6 minutes of regulation. That is, ostensibly, the point guard's job. And, when you have a star-in-the-making. like Cousins, it's arguably his most important job.

Uh... yeah. When it comes to point guards, the ability of a point guard to get the ball to the star player, where the star is most effective is, in fact, the way we judge that point guard's ability to play with that star.

For whatever else he can't do, Vasquez does that better than anybody else we've got on the team, by a lot.

I just disagree that that is why we went to overtime. A million different things caused that game to go into overtime. If Cousins didn't get into early foul trouble overtime could have been avoided. If our starting point guard could produce more than 4 pts and 4 ast overtime could have been avoided, etc.

The team couldn't get Cousins the ball effectively in crunch time. We all wanted the ball to go there. No doubt about it, but that is one flaw in one particular game, for a 5-6 minute stretch. I'm not basing big picture stuff on that. I'm not saying they can't play together because of that.

But I know where you stand. I can disagree and still respect the opinion.

No, what we did is fine. Teams do it all the time. That is an argument FOR Thomas, not against him.

Thomas was struggling to get the ball inside. Lucky for us basketball isn't a 2 on 2 game. Salmons was out there at the time and he settled things down getting the ball inside to Cousins. There is nothing inherently wrong with that. That's just smart basketball.

Agree once again. Besides, an entry pass from the top of the key is the hardest way to get the ball into the post. So I'm not so sure why that would want IT making passes from there. I also don't remember many possesions where IT was on the wing and failed to get the ball to Cousins. Did anyone count how many entry passes IT could or couldn't make? Was 20? 10? 4? 2?
