I think a big problem tonight, was Smart completely went away from the rotation which we played so well with the last three games. And while we were gaining momentum early in the 2nd, he once again massacred it with his substitutions revolving around small ball.

You can't constantly change the rotations and expect any kind of consistency.

Yeah, COusins is a bust. Should have drafted a true PG to replace our other bust. Jimmer is a god though
Not saying he's a bust but this has happened a few times this year, your free to draw any conclusions you would like from my observation but saying he's a "bust" is not what I was implying

Were it not for the fact that Cousins and Reke even at their worst are better than anybody on the other team, we'd be down by 30

I know you weren't. I just like to play the role of overreactionary ***hat before an actual one does it.

Smart did so well putting a rotation/combinations together which were working over the last 4-5 games, and then out of nowhere blew it all up, went back to small ball, sat our starters far too long, and played combinations which a)have never worked for us, and b) haven't played together in a few weeks.

Now, it's not all on Smart, as our guys didn't start off that well, but I get the sense it'd be a much closer game if Smart just stuck to the rotation which had been working so well for us. Every damn game Smart F's something up in the 2nd.

I hope to see more Chuck and Jimmer (with Reke at SG) the 2nd half. Those 2 guys made a nice impact in the late 1st, early 2nd and were a big reason we got back into the game originally

to be fair, Smart didn't shoot 33% from the floor and be down 8-20 in the 1st quarter to a 4-20 team.

Maybe we should have retained Westphal to coach first half of games and Smart to coach second half:)

It's like he gives our big three a short leash, if they come out cold he quickly begins reaching and messing up a rotation that won us a couple games. Maybe he sees some matchups that I don't but as far I see were getting worked by scrubs.
