Kings have something to prove vs. Sonics.

Kings will have to continue their playoff style play as of late to beat the sonics. seattle is going to be fatigued after a game against spurs but we should show no mercy.(revenge for the loss earlier in the season.) This is a game the kings have to win in order for everyone to respect us. Also I think playing against the spurs even though we lost has made the kings rise thier game to a different level.

I sure hope so. Im still certain were better all around than the sonics. So long as Bibby and Cat find their strokes, and Brad stays consistent, we should be fine.

I Don't Agree

What do the King's have to prove to the Sonics ???

King's don't have anything to prove to the Sonics.

If anything, just continue improving --> effort/teamwork/focus ... the winning and losing will take care of itself ... to prove to themselves they have what it takes to contend for the title.

mmmmmm.....good post!

FORTSON killed the kings last time! but i have a feeling this game is gonna be an easy one for the kings. if they played how they did yesterday, this should be a breeze!

I think the Sonics have cooled down a whole bunch since that 17-3 start. They've only been 13-9 since then. 13-9 is around a .600 record, which is still great, but still their not nearly as hot as they were. Maybe that loss to Phoenix hurt their confidence. I could be wrong though.

Anyone know Webb's or Peja's status for tommorow?

Sonics have cooled way off after the huge start. Still a good team, but no longer a scary/great one. Playing +.500 ball, but not +.700 ball.

On the other hand they hit us where we are weak -- we can't play like weenies on the defensive glass against that team, and please for the love of God guys, guard the damn three point line!!

Any idea of Webber and Peja's availability? They help us in the halfcourt offense, but Songalia and Barnes/Evans movement and activity makes the team better defensively.

I don't think we want to fall into the trap of thinking our benchers can beat good teams consistently. They can't. And we aren't going to get 20+ out of Miller/Bibby/Mobley every night if they are alone out there without our main guns. Any of them fall off at all, we are suddenly starved for scoring. We'll be in danger against the Sonics without getting at least one of our stars back.

Cool !!!

Do you have Bibby's block from yesterday ??? Was it Hudson he blocked ???

I'm sorry ... but those looks have got to go .... Hudson and Sprewell look like a couple of PREDATOR'S out there.

Sorry to change the topic .... man, that look is UGLEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!

they gotta win this game tomorrow cuz when the kings played the sonics in seattle....that came was ugly...nobody showed up to play...the only one that looked even remotely interested was Brad and he was getting absolutely beat up by Danny Fortson....they embarassed themselves on National Television...and that lost was the only game that i actually turned the tv off before the game was over and when i say before the game was over i mean the middle of the 3rd quarter...i dunno how many points we were down at the time...it certainly was possible to come back and win or at least to make it an interesting game...but the guys weren't up for it....totally out of it...they cashed out early....BUT they did come back like two days later and beat Phoenix at America West

the sonics are playing the spurs tonight...so we are the second of their back to backs...maybe they'll have a let down game...but rumor has it that Ray might not play tonight cuz he has the flu...and Nate McMillian might not coach cuz his mom just passed (RIP)...so it'll be interesting to see...but im excited to see little Luke Ridnour...he's sucha cutie i just want to run up to him and pinch his cheeks

GO KINGS beat the Sonics tomorrow night!!

I wasn't falling into that trap. =P

I am just saying we will play different types of games depending on who is in there and matchup wise, I worry less about our rebounding with our bench players, but worry more about our offense.

Thank You !!!

Folsom Al it was Wally that Mike blocked yesterday

Yeah, Mike came from behind running full-steam, got up and WHAM ...

Nothing wrong with Mike's ankle.

I love it when the King's jump in the passing lanes, get those steals or when a pass is made and the next thing you know one of our King's is snaggin' the ball right out of the air and then streakin' for TWOOOOOOOOO !!!!

I have to disagree for the simple reason I don't think our performance against the Sonics will change the perception of people who don't respect us right now. And, for the record, I couldn't care less about the whole "we need the respect" issue.

The Sacramento Kings ARE true contenders. I don't care if the national media recognizes it. We, as fans, know it and the players know it. The coaching staff knows it...and other teams know it.

What's important is that the team continues to work together and gel into a cohesive unit that will go into the playoffs healthy and determined.

Yes, a win would be very nice. Why? Because it will be another win and EVERY win is important this year with the Western Conference as competitive as it is, not because it might get someone to respect us.

:D

most dudes will play with the flu(depending on how severe it is), so chances are hes gonna play.

hes from Merced, California btw.......

Edit: I forgot to contribute something remotely useful to the thread. Here we go:

I don't mean to sound like a pessimist or piksimist or whatnot, but the Sonics represent the very basic fundamentals with which to beat the Kings. Excellent perimeter play and good on the boards-- a combination that can render the Kings helpless if they play with anything less than full energy. Yesterday's game was a full display of what we need to see tomorrow: great defensive rotation and a ton of Kings crashing the boards and fighting for the ball. It's unfortunate that yesterday tends to be the exception rather than the rule when it comes to Kings games this year. Hopefully yesterday will start something.

Umm...no. Predators look cool; these guys are just unbelievably ugly. Couple that with ugly hair-dos and the wolves will be howling every night (no pun intended). Braided pigtails should never be seen on a a grown man, if they should exist at all. You talk about Mobley with his skully? At least he looks decent! The league should focus on dorks like Danny Fortson, Sprewell, and Hudson. Remind me if I left anyone out.

Yeah, he is. Also is Bruce Bowen. :D Funny cause those two always have problems on court together. Remember last season when Ray keep complaining about Bowen grabbing, etc him?

That's really sad. :( Tough time for him right now.

The Sonics game will be a big game. It'll be the first game of Feb and it'll be nice to start out the month with a win since Feb is a tough schedule month for the Kings. Every home game is important. :) I think towards the end of Feb, the Kings will have a 6 games road trip? That's why these home games are important.

To the Fans who'll be going to the Sonics game, cheer loud for the Kings!! I'll be cheering from home! It's payback to the Sonics from that first game. GO KINGS!

Amen man. I HATE those friggen pigtails. Soooo stupid looking.

I think it's more like San Antonio has something to prove against Seattle. They've already lost twice to them. Besides beating SA twice, they also beat the Heat twice, and Us, Minni, and Dallas the 1 time they played all of us. Seattle hasn't been playing as well lately but they definately seem to get up for big games. I Hope Arco is Rockin for this one...

yeah it definetly depends on the severity of it

btw...Tom Brady played in the AFC Championship game with a 103 degree temperature...can you belive that...he was in his bed in the hotel the whole day before...and then came out and put his usual Tom Brady performance...he is the man...but you aren't gonna get him to talk about it...he won't admit that he was sick...he says "their were guys out there playing with broken bones i don't want to talk about me being a little sick"....gotta respect a guy like that....i just thought you all should know that story :D
