Hall of Famer
It wasn't just him. They panicked for sure. And the calls from the sidelines made things worse. Once it became a foul shooting game so there was no reason to have Sabonis on the floor. Also, you intentionally foul with less than 4 seconds so you don't guard the inbounder, you need the extra body out there to fill the gaps. A win is a win but teams definitely are going to notice how the Kings dealt with the full court press.
The press made us look silly for sure. Like embarrassing

We basically played NOT to lose at the end. I know the Grizz have a good defense, but the inexplicable turnovers were mind boggling.
Refs were letting MEM play extremely physical and the compounded on some bad calls with just really stupid turnovers and let it snowball on them. But God damn, it'd be nice to play in crunch time where the game is called fairly.

Better that we get this out of the way now so we don't panic when we face this level of pressure in the playoffs. :D

Yeah, they really let the Grizz play "handsy" defense. That's a respect thing for sure. Outside of the bad calls hopefully the Kings learn from this and take another step. They need to work on simple things now, like inbounding the ball under your own basket under pressure.

First, we got complacent and sloppy. Then MEM made an effort to come back. Refs then saw it and understood their assignment now would be to slightly tilted the calls favoring them for a more exciting game. Then suddenly it looked like we kept turning the ball over.

This is straight up what's known in video games as "the rubberbanding design", where they make your Mario's cart run slower when you are ahead so Yoshi can catch up.

Got called up for dinner when we were up 12. Uncomfortable but anywho this thread doubled in size during those final minutes. It's nice to have been melting down alone and then seeing I was not alone.

As soon as that Ja prayer 3 went in at the shot clock buzzer I knew we were gonna be in for a tight game.

And make no mistake — the refs continue to disrespect the KINGS at nearly every turn in the waning moments. Gifting Morant that foul call with seconds to play was an absolute joke. An embarrassment.

But we know the league is pretty much dead set on making these games as close and exciting as possible.
