Can you replace the owner? I'd get rid of Mullin and not replace him with anyone. PDA is the guy that needs to go. The firing of Malone at the time he did it is possibly the worst GM move in recent memory. Killed a promising season and may have set the franchise back immeasurably unless....unless his next move is a job saver. But killing this season for the reasons stated has broken the trust between the FO and the players and once again makes our franchise appear inept after the small gains we were making.
As far as who you replace him with....I can't say but I'd get a veteran guy.

Well....I think after the Malone firing it was Mark Cuban who kind of indirectly commented about the move and Vivek's early ownership and he mentioned how he had made mistakes and had learned from the them but that there will be a learning curve.
I'm hoping that Vivek truly learns from all of this. If not, then we will be in for more of the same.

Guys there's no way you can pick PDA atleast he traded for Gay. It has to be Mullin since it can be the owner. Mullin wants small ball, is responsible for Malones firing, and is a proven failure. If PDA gets fired more than likely Mullin steps in which in turn changes nothing. Just watch the draft video vevik says now we have someone to out shoot Mullin on practice. Why the **** would that matter.

Here's my vote: replace Mullin with Adelman.
He's a great "jazz conductor" so Vivek would listen to him, he knows and values defense, he could be a great mentor to our coaches, and would bring instant credibility and respect to the organization (both around the league based on his pedigree and within the Sacramento area and fanbase based on his impact on this team's history in Sacramento).

You know, that's all fine and stuff, but why on earth would Adelman agree to do the job? I think he's had enough of meddling owners to last him three lifetimes. People need to let go of the past IMHO...
I voted to get rid of PDA.
If the FO blew it in any way, let them correct it. If one of them is off base, let them figure out who it is and correct it. I might be able to say who I like best and least but have no idea whether someone is unproductive or an under achiever. Let's just watch basketball and cheer or ***** or both.

Same reason Phil is in NY: $$ and a job that suits their current priorities in life.
What's wrong with caring about long-term continuity and taking care of our own? The great franchises keep key people around long term and continue to reward them well after their immediate and biggest impacts have been made. That sort of loyalty to the people that matter breeds long term stability and can help build a winning culture and identity. It also makes the franchise a more attractive destination for top talent and candidates for all positions throughout the organization.
RA would be my first choice based in large part on sentiment, yes, but he's also a good candidate and the best available in my mind. I'd be happy to see Jerry West or someone similar in the role, too.

yep. he's in a great spot w/o having to take any heat for the decisions. mully's going to be HC or GM in the future.

You can't replace the owner, so I say PDA. A good, established GM is going to have better influence over decisions and won't let it get to the point where the owner is calling roll in the draft room.
Hopefully, having Cousins and Gay under contract would be enough to actually attract a good GM despite what's going on with ownership.

This thought is why I said Mullin. I have a stinking suspicion that Mullin has an agenda for himself, like GM aspirations, and screw the damage done because that's just collateral damage for the ultimate personal goal. I have no concrete evidence, just hunches that hopefully aren't worth a damn. Someone on this board posted a picture asking if Vivek was enjoying himself, he obviously wasn't, but Mullin was sitting next to him with this "grin." It is possible he might just have passed gas, but it sure looked liked it was satisfied with the disaster on the court.
Sometimes, not always or even often, there's a reason to be paranoid.

He's got a salary floor of 90% of the cap, which will soon be higher than 90 million. I think it's fair to assume that he financed some portion of the sale. Notably, he gave up revenue sharing payments once he goes to the new arena. At some point, if he is just an horrible owner and the fans stay home, he doesn't have to sell ... but it will cost him a fortune to be obstinate and stay. And I'm not talking about protests or something organized. After a string of bad owners, a lot of people in this town will just stay home and only a portion have to vote with their wallets.
The TV money is also going up, but unless his desire to own extends to both taking losses, bare bone spending, and just hoping the fans come back after a splash move, the fans

It's understandable that Vivek wants to push the official definition of NBA 3.0, where he spreads basketball across the globe. That's good. But when he decides that "pace" and "faster style" are the only way to achieve those also well-intentioned NBA 3.0 goals, and doesn't consider backing down and saying, "Oh shoot, this approach isn't working", its only natural that "pace" and "faster style" become part of the unofficial, not-politically-correct, and casually used definition of NBA 3.0

But we can also consider a more disappointing, yet very possible situation: one where Vivek wants to achieve the goals of the official definition of NBA 3.0, but also wants the team to be like GSW, regardless of whether or not those fulfill the goals of the official definition of NBA 3.0
