I don't know what the deal is with herewestay. They posted the ad more than a day ago to solely promote the herewestay game. They presented it as "our ad", with no mention of us. Their true intentions of what they meant to use it for, which was to promote the game with no mention of the Maloofs or a plea to stay, was clear to see when they advertised it openly before we were even shown it here.

I posted politely on facebook telling what the original purpose of the ad was, which was a plea to the Maloofs stating how much we love and care for the team. I also said they shouldn't misrepresent the purpose of the ad. They deleted that post. I responded again 10 mins later saying the same thing, and asking why they would delete the post. They deleted it again, along with yours, and then blocked you from the website.

These are the guys who are supposed to be on our side, and we're supposed to be working together with? I'm proud that everyone came together last night, and the ad will turn out well. That's the important thing, and I pray the Maloofs see it. But I can't help but feel herewestay took our money, and then shut us out, by deleting everything we posted, and ignoring us outright.
 
As someone that paid $$, I'll be somewhat disappointed if it's the original ad that ended up going into the bee. On the other hand, in my mind it was a donation to Mike to get this done as he saw fit so I don't think I can ***** too much. Either way, in the end it all goes toward the goal of keeping the Kings in Sac.
 
Everyone should try your best to twitter, email or whatever you can to get this ATTN: to the maloofs...any idea where the ad is going to be? What section? What page?
 
Wow. They blocked me to. I want people to see we're making a plea to the Maloofs, in as personalized a fashion as possible, telling them how much we care, and my message is deleted and I'm blocked from the website? You have to be kidding me.

These are the people who decided what to do with our money, and now they're treating us like crap? They want to put out an ad with us and won't let us post the same message on their page?

Exactly why we shouldn't have included them on the "sponsors"...too late now. We should have ignored ALL sponsors and just left it as "KINGS FANS", as in ANYONE WHO LOVES THE SACRAMENTO KINGS.

I don't really care. The message needed to get out, the ad needed to be done. I've never been an "I told you so" sort of guy when it came to things that mattered. For the greater good, I suppose. If you want to stir a hornet's nest to stir it, that's your agenda.
 
Isnt the point of the Ad to get the maloofs to read it, and realize they have fans here who will spend THEIR money to do what they can to keep the team in Sacramento? To show them they have a fanbase already in place here, and will need to create a new fan base wherever they move too?...And to try and convince them not to move?

Thats what I got out of it at least. If the "Here We Stay" people want to use it as a advertisement for the next Kings game, then who cares? The Ad wasnt to target those guys anyways. They already want the Kings here, they are already doing their part. Why not kill two birds with one stone? If it makes you feel any better, you can take some credit in the sellout ( or close to it ) when that game comes up.

Im impressed with everything. Im impressed with what "Here We stay" has done. Im impressed with what "Here We Build" has done. And Everyone knows I love this place.

The goal is to keep the Kings in Sacramento. If that happens it will be because of all these things combined. Who gets what credit or who uses the Ad for what purpose doesnt matter if the job gets done, and in this case if the job doesnt get done and the Kings leave, it wont be because of this. I promise.
 
I'm too old to read all this ????? from the last few days. I sampled some and......... never mind.

I hope an ad is moving forward to tomorrow's paper as planned. If it is not please let us know on this site. What's up?

Personally, I don't give a rat's patoot about the whole HereWeStay tempest in a teapot. We're fighting to keep our Kings, folks. The more warriors we have, the better IMHO.

I want to really thank Mike for all the time and effort he's put into this. The petty bickering really needs to just stop. That's not what we want this to be about, is it?

Again, THANK YOU MIKE0476...and everyone else who contributed to the final product. Let's just all hope now that the Maloofs see it and hear the message.

Mike, I'm sorry you found yourself in the middle of of unpleasantness over this. You don't deserve that.You have worked so hard for months now. Please know that I thank you with all my heart. You are definitely one of my heroes. A man who doesn't just sit on the sidelines, but gets in there and tries to make positive things happen. You can't please all the people, all the time. Don't lose heart.
 
The ad is PERFECT!!!! It is found in section A8 in the Bee this morning.

Thanks again for all you did to help make this possible, Mike!!! I mean that from the bottom of my heart....

I hope they at least heard about it by someone passing the information down to them. It at least shows the community has faith and can band together.

At one point I was contemplating doing some type of Guerilla campaigning, something that relied on time and imagination than a large budget. The idea just came too late and sadly I didn't have anything too thought out or the resources (time I did spend went to potential 'save our kings' design stuff if it went online). Something that would grab the attention of the news/internet media and hopefully not get me in trouble. It could have been something as simple as getting a large amount of people printing an absurd number of posters/fliers (as much as your ink can handle) with something like, save our kings. Then sticking them up all around high traffic areas around the city maybe all over the outside of city hall.

-but I'm really glad Mike was able to get this ad together.

IIRC, Grant was discussing it soon after it hit and said he "guaranteed" the Maloofs saw it. Which means, if I can read Grant correctly, either he or a friend/colleague sent it to them directly.

Holy crap, Grant was discussing it? I had no idea. I'm really disappointed I missed that. What day was it? Maybe I can find an archive of that show.
