Kings Fans Bee Ad

I’m no great writer but if it were up to me, I’d go with something like this...

Dear Joe, Gavin, and the Maloof family

We’ve been through a lot in the last decade. But one thing hasn’t changed. We still love our Sacramento Kings and will do anything to keep them. We implore you to please not give up on us. There’s still hope and we have faith that our good Mayor, Kevin Johnson, in addition to Comcast, ICON, etc. will be able to make it financially viable for you to Keep The Kings in Sacramento if you’ll give them the chance.

Passion.
Commitment.
Loyality.

Sincerely,
The best fans in the world.
That's too long. We have just 1/4 of a page to make this work.

I like the suggested "dear joe" messages.

I'd say give Juffy Lube and Here We Stay ad space if they contributed enough to increase the ad size or to run it longer... is that what happened? I don't want to promote a radio personality's agenda or an auto repair shop or kings ticket sales. Did KF.com collect enough for a quarter page "dear joe" ad without promoting other agendas?

anyway good suggestions with the "dear Joe etc" - any variation on that I'd be happy with.

FWIW, I don't like the Are You? part. It sounds condescending. They are not going to be guilted into staying. It needs to show that the fans are committed to support this team and it needs to be directed at the Maloofs.
I agree. Keep the ideas coming folks and thanks to theclash4u5 for helping us edit it.

Oh, it completely is. LOL I was having a moment of anger about this whole arena mess and hoped no one would notice ;).

How about:

Joe and Gavin,

Passion.
Commitment.
Loyalty.

We're still here, we're still fighting, we love our Kings too much not too.

We know we can work this out.

Rookieoftheday, It will fit it just won't be an effective ad. It's a good letter but it's just too wordy for an ad, especially of that size.

I have no say here, but I will note that if Jiffylube gave a chunk of money for the ad they are likely to want credit for it, and that might end up cutting a decent way anyway -- from the Maloofs perspective a lack fo local corporate money is one of the problems, so much as I personally prefer the just from the fans look, from the Maloofs having a local corporate entity there saying please stay might appeal. Maybe.

That's all I'm going to say here, because you guys have brought it this far, and can certainly bring it home wthout meddling from the cheap seats.

"The Kings are the best thing which has ever happened to Sacramento, and Sacramento is the best thing which has ever happened to the Kings franchise. We are a partnership, a duo, a pairing which should forever be joined by its emotional bond, together united, and embraced as one of the greatest unions the NBA has ever seen."

Just an idea. Thinking about a quick way to include our emotion and history in a short plea.

Love this!

Couple nitpicks:

Too many o's on the last "to".

And of course a preposition is a bad kind of word to end a sentence with.

Personally, I think the content would be more important than making it eye catching in the way you would a traditional ad. After all, the only people's attention we're really trying to grab here, are The Maloofs.

I like this one too. It's just about the fans, and it's simple and keeps it positive.

Trying a different idea:

Joe and Gavin,

We have been here through it all.
The losses, the excitement, the heartache,
the reconstruction.

We can get through this too, together.

I think everyone has already expressed all of my opinions. For whatever it is worth, I vote for appealing to Joe and Gavin.

I like the design, and really don't even need the sponsors at the bottom. How about just making it a short note?

Joe and Gavin,

Passion.
Commitment.
Loyalty.

We're still here, are you?

EDIT: I don't pretend to have any photoshop skills, and did this in about 5 min using, don't laugh, paint....and I don't want try to be another cook in the kitchen so feel free to disregard me...:) Oh and Mike, I know you wanted to have something like "We can work it out"...how about that at the bottom?
On second thought. Now I need the font.

What is the deadline?
It was at 4pm on Thursday. I contacted the Bee and they said they might be able to change it. I need to get it to them ASAP before tomorrow morning when they open up their advertising office. The Bee has been very good at helping us out with this thus far.

Ten words doesn't give you the chance to express much sentiment.
There can be more if we don't mention the game.

I'm going to erase what's therre, and eliminate the ad for the game. This is not somehting I am good at so get your ideas in by 11 and then it's mine. It's going to be a long night. There will be a better message and a worse design

I can't even do a font right so I need to fiddle a lot.

This is my trimmed down idea. But it’s still well over your 10 word goal.
