[KINGS] Comments that don't warrant their own thread (Redux)

As I said in the other thread, NBA is a grind. And apparently, the Kings path so far has been the grindiest. We are doing pretty well.

Of course, the Debbie Downers will only accept a win with a clear demolition of lower tier teams
Agreed. Every team is going to have at least 5-10 bad games a season. If you can find a way to win some of those games, that is a bonus.

Everyone one of you coming up with trades needs to watch this. Very good info.
Yup, looking at salary cap ramifications about picking up a big salary "star" would put the Kings at a big disadvantage when it comes time to resign Keegan and Monk.

I'm sure Monte has already thought this out. I doubt Monte goes for a big ticket trade. I'm thinking he's going to be looking for some depth and length for the bench. I don't see Monte making a "big ticket" trade at the deadline.

According to one report, Juan Toscano-Anderson was not re-signed at the end of his second 10-day contract. That leaves one spot open on the bench leading up to the trade deadline a week from today at noon PST.

We have between 4 and 6 players who are not touching the floor constantly ... i don't think they are looking for depth at the moment .. .
If they go for a transfer it looks like it will be for someone who they think will make the starting 5 ...

city of Chicago has so many different Europeans living there, I believe Chicago or maybe its Milwaukee has the highest Serbian population in the country
Well, I moved to Chicago from Lithuania last century and I completely agree. Not only Europeans but from the whole world. I buy booze from corner place where guys from from Mexico down to southern tip of Chile work. Smokes - from Palestinians. Other good booze place - Yemen ownership. I'll stop here. Probably I could name ~100 countries and much more nationalities that I came or am close with in Chicago. Talking about melting pot :)
Once in a bar I talked till close about photography and languages with the guy who is Basque :)

De Aaronis Foxas! :D
Lived in Klaipeda for 3 months 22 years ago during winter/spring, I can't recall how many times I fell down in the icy road. So much basketball on TV at that time, Macijauskas and Javtokas peak era (in Rytas).

In other former Sacramento Kings players news...

Thanks guys for the warm comments! :) As it was expected, plenty of Lithuanian hard core fans read this forum too. With the Vezenkov signing we got Bulgarians joining the ranks.
I could begin telling my life story, but it's a HUGE melting pot :)
Just to say, as an athlete myself and a sport's fan and Lithuanian - I was an extreme ultra fan in the era gone by. Good times ;)
Klaipėda, Vilnius, Kaunas, Lietuva... Sabonis, Marčiulionis, Chomičius, Jovaiša and the list goes on. It all began in 1937 with the gold medals in Eurobasket and following championship in Kaunas, building Sporto Halė before the WWII...
Guys, the most satisfying feeling is when an underdog beats everyone. So - Kings for the NBA rings!!! Light that BEAM to bleeping space!!! ;)

Wow- these next 11 games are REALLY something!

@ Cleveland (#3 in East, winners of 12 of 13)
vs. Detroit
vs. Denver (#4 in West, .5 games out of first)
@ OKC (tied for #1 in West)
@ Phoenix (#6 in West, 1 game behind us)
@ Denver (#4 in West, back to back)
vs. San Antonio
@ LAC (#3 in West)
vs. Miami (#8 in East, just beat us, back to back)
@ Denver (3 times in 11 games!)
@ Minnesota (tied for #1 in West)

So we play the top 4 teams in the West (Minnesota, OKC, Denver, and LAC) 6 times, with 5 on the road. We also play the next best team in the West (Phoenix) on the road, a top East team (Cleveland) on the road, and one of the more winnable games is against an above .500 team that just beat us on the second night of a back to back (Miami). Thank goodness for the San Antonio and Detroit games, which we will likely make way harder than necessary. Just a really brutal stretch. Anything around .500 is a big success.

WOW.... No rest for the weary, ain't it... Looks like this road trip will end up 6-1, but next 11?! thanks Rain man for input into schedule. Good thing so far - that Domas doesn't have anything broken yet. NBA talks about "protecting best players from injuries during the games"................. yeashhh, right...

Good news is the Kings did work on this recent trip by beating the teams they should have. Now the test begins but they have a buffers somewhat now at least.

Amen!
Arvydas is the best big man I've ever seen. Watching him almost singlehandedly destroy the Soviet team in his heyday was something out of this world.
