Kings @ Bobcats Game Thread (very early edition)

If you're looking for something positive, just thank God you still have an nba team playing for Sacramento right now.

if things end really bad and Sacramento fans become less and less of a factor, and with no new arena, Sacramento could end up saying goodbye to the Kings.

Well, let's just hope it doesn't have to come to that. Besides that's a whole 'nother topic itself. ;):)

It may be harsh, but at what point do people simply quit accepting poor performances from an NBA player in his contract year?

Pushing it? He passed up numerous open looks. That's not pushing it; that's either not caring or being afraid to shoot or second guessing himself. None of which are any good for an NBA player, especially a starter.
I 100% agree with you guys... but really, this is a team wide thing.

Very impressed with Martin tonight, for the most part, similar to vs. NJ. Now, can he keep playing well (obviously not like tonight, but solid/productive/consistent)?

Would of liked to see Skinner in there more, last time he was awesome vs. the Bobcats, getting 15 pts and 16 boards, and like 2-4 blocks.

Is that all you've got to say 113?

Be angry at Peja all you want - but he isn't KILLING us. He just isn't helping us. He'll start hitting eventually ... it sucks to see him struggle, but come on ... this isn't Peja.

Bibby taking 24 shots is ridiculous. That HURTS us. Peja crunched the shot clock a few times, but he didn't shoot us out of the game.

I agree (offensively, for the most part).

Team wide thing?

I don't think so.

I watched carefully as Miller became clearly frustrated when he got the ball with only a couple of seconds left on the clock and no open shot.

I would try fixing one thing at a time; and right now, if I was Adelman, I'd be putting a certain SF's butt on the bench and starting Corliss.

But we all have ideas about what could help. It's no fun watching a team lose a game they definitely could/should have won.

:(

But with Bonzi gone, Miller being harrassed all night, Peja UNWILLING to take an open shot, and Martin having limited outside range, what is Bibby to do? Even with Reef's good game, Bibby had to take those shots!

His defense? Another story...

Well, when somebody is drowning and You watch - You are culpable if You have conscience. As for PG we had 2 great PG's and Vlade left and CW got traded. Miller is a solid copy and Mike is a SG - volume first. We need a PG - badly.

Did you WATCH the game? Peja killed at least 5 possessions, and that's being generous. He'll start hitting eventually? Dude, he's not even willing to step up and take the shots when he has them.

How long are we going to say "this isn't Peja"?

Peja really didn't have a lot of good looks. Everyone here knows I'm not a Peja fan, but I'd rather him NOT shoot if he's not comfortable and doesn't think he'll make it ... then he should pass it.

Bibby's shots are coming from wasting the clock out.

Didnt the Kings have 1 more 20 second timeout they could have used???
Sometimes, adelman doesn't like taking the timeout and setting up a play. For better or for worse, he trusts his guys to make something happen. They've been practicing together and been together long enough to atleast have an idea on what to do.

This strategy (not taking the timeout) also prevents the other team from setting up their defense and putting in the best defensive guys they have.

Doesn't mean that i agree or disagree. sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. It is what it is.

They may have had the timeout, but Adelman didn't signal or yell for them to take it and he was RIGHT there on the sidelines next to Bibby.

But Bibby got the ball with 3.3 seconds left, so they should of taken the time out becauwse there is no way he is going to get up the court so fast...........

Why didnt they take it when Bibby had no chance of doing anything with 3.3 seconds left at thne end of the court?

I agree. He has to hit and shoot.

But, Peja seems like the kind of guy that lets things into his head.

While Peja may have killed 5, I know Bibby and Miller killed more. Bibby wasted clock possession to get shots, Miller had 6 TOs.

How long are we going to say "this isn't Peja"?
I'm not Peja fan. In fact, I lean towards disliking his style of play ... but basing it on historical fact - this isn't the way Peja normally plays.

But he had that sweet bounce pass to Kevin Martin.... That makes it all better... Doesn't it? ;)

I'm with you 60% on this one, but my homerism still sees him contributing other ways :)

hmm you're right. i didn't get to watch the game and i didn't know there was only 3.3 secs left.

adelman probably just told bibby to go chuck up a three then. I mean it'll probably be the same play they'll go to when they call a timeout.

Maybe we could've used a timeout at that time, but oh well. What's done is done.

My best guess is Adelman just telling mike to go take a three and tie it. If it doesn't fall, then oh well.

True, but a 24 foot shot is better than a 50 foot shot! :D

Yeah, that was sweet.

Also played good d on G-Wall, w/ Brad coming in to save a hoop that could of won it.

Tough trip for Peja. Hopefully playing Dallas will bring it out of him or something. ;)
