[Game] Kings at Lakers 12/03/10 Game Thread

Tyreke always looks like he doesn't really care if the team loses or wins just aslong as he gets up 20 shots, makes 6 and gets the line 10 times, ha. I like players that have some fire in them, lets get some vets.

The teams entire culture is pretty **** right now. And thats on the Coach. Cant put all this on Reke, whos being a trooper and playing through some tough foot/ankle pain (at the detriment to the team and his own health).

JT has potential because of his size and athleticism, and to some degree his skillset. He just needs to learn to be patient and smart with his decision making. Dont go for the basket right when you get the ball. Slow it down, and execute if the time is right.

Oh boy, I wonder what Westfail had to say after the game.... explain...

said hes gonna look at something different for tomorrow. been quite a bit down this road the way they've been going lately (im assuming no offensive output). needs to try something else. cant just keep trying something for the sake of consistency when it doesnt work. it's enough of this line up.

I wouldnt mind having Walton as big man coach.

Although I am one of the few who is entertained by his goofyness and hyperbole when broadcasting

I like it. And there are a few of us out here that like Walton. Very entertaining and comical.

Lineup for DALLAS

PG- JETER
SG - REKE
SF - GARCIA (IS HE HEALHY) if not then CASPI
PF - JT
C - COUSINS

i've actually been kind of disappointed with garcia lately. i wanted him to start at sg with evans at first but his play has been pretty pedestrian the last few games.

What exactly is he going to try next? Pooh starting? Garcia? The only players I could see definitely starting is JT and Evans...the rest?? Who knows.

it was right after someone asked him about starting beno and cousins after the half. so im assuming them for more offensive production. just a guess tho

Evans has severely regressed this year. This time, he didn't even bother showing up--I know he has that injury, but I have a feeling that it's more a feeling of hopelessness than out of inability that he's not playing well. I've said that he should take more threes, and at least he hit three today, but that doesn't change the fact that he's a slashing guard who shoots below 40% from the field and rarely takes any threes--that's terrible. DeMarcus also showing real signs of laziness out there, was caught immobile several times going against a guy drafted 50 spots below him in Caracter. Also nice to see Pooh being a mid-range specialist.

^ he just doesnt know what to do as a PG. Its hard to put forth a lot of effort when youre not sure exactly what that effort is going towards, hence the indecisiveness, overdribbling, all of that PG stuff

dude, dont say anything negative about Demarcus, he's a God around here...and besides he's not lazy, he's 20 and thats how 20 yearold are, and its only been 15 games or so Im told

The next time the Kings make the playoffs, no member of the current team will be on that playoff team. I mean that.

They're at least 100% turnover in personnel away. Just 13 more pieces to go.

They're not going to win 20 this year.

I'm just thinking out loud here... Put these five names on a list:

1) Petrie
2) Joe Maloof
3) Gavin Maloof
4) Jerry Reynolds
5) Paul Westphal

Are you with me so far?

Good.

Who would you fire?

It's coming. PW is 29-70. That's a disaster. But who is to blame, really? Eh, doesn't matter, the coach always gets it.

Bye, Paul. He won't make it through January.

Didn't even watch the 4th. Just my thoughts: game totally got out of hand the minute Beno hit the bench, and then when he came back, wasn't looking to score. Beno being aggressive = only legit offensive option on this team.

What about JT, he's a bright spot. I really think he has upside. I hope they keep him at least. I envision him as a piece. He needs to be guaranteed 30 mins and the starting spot. He needs consistancy in the lineup for growth. I hope they retain him

i know, they need a quick playmaking pg who can make JT a recipient inside scores to boost his confidence and he could be solid. He trys hard and is active and would be a good teammate.

LOS ANGELES -- Nothing was wrong with the Los Angeles Lakers that a visit from pitiful Sacramento couldn't repair -- or least patch up until the two-time champions get back from a long weekend of rest and refocusing.

Kobe Bryant scored 22 points, Pau Gasol added 16 despite a strained left hamstring, and the Lakers easily snapped a four-game losing streak with a 113-80 victory over the Kings on Friday night.

Lamar Odom had 16 points and seven rebounds as the Lakers capitalized on nearly optimal conditions for ending their longest skid since April 2007. The struggling Kings couldn't keep up with the Lakers in the paint or on the break, leaving coach Phil Jackson grateful for the win, even if he wasn't sure what it meant.

"It's hard to judge," Jackson said. "Have we broken free from the bonds that held us back, or did we just get a weak sister at this time of year?"

...Ouch. Everyone is laughing at us :(

Wait...what?

Beno scored 4pts on the night. 4. You're telling me those 4pts are what was holding us in it?

We have more talent on this team that we've had in 2 years, and this team is worse than the 17 win team, no doubt. Paul was hired to make this team better, and he hasn't. I don't care if the Maloofs hire a bunch of high school kids to play for the Kings, he should at LEAST get them to play HARD. We don't even TRY...are you NOT watching the game?!

I'm sorry I watch every game. What I mean by not enough talent is I see the players on the Kings working just as hard at the opposing team. I see them sweating just as much and running just as hard. The problem is they are not TALENTED enough to compete. So much so that the other team is able to : Pass the ball, shoot the ball, dribble the ball, run their offense and defense, block shots, and win jump balls BETTER than the Kings do. Other teams have FAR more talent that the Kings do. Point out the ALLSTAR on the Kings team? Point out our solid players who are heading for the allstar team? HUH? I thought you said we were talented enough? But we are not. Not by a long shot! We dont have nearly the talent other teams have. Other teams have allstars or potential allstars. WE dont have EITHER! So it is a LACK OF TALENT. But it's not just a lack of all star talent, it is a lack of talent across the board! The whole Kings roster is made of young role players. None of these role players really stand out at their positions.

No. Just no.

Fans are panicking left and right but that's not it. Its not talent, its youth. You put together the Orlando Magic when all their major guys were 20-22 an the results would not be much more pretty. We are still underacheiving, but its the underacheivement of unrealized potential, not the underacheivement of lousy talent.
