Kings at Bulls 3/21/11 Game Thread

Yep... This team doesn't seem to like each other all that much.

as worthless as they seem on the court sometimes. i really like seeing the attitude of d-block and donte when theyre on the bench. smiling, cheering the team on even when they suck, and that last move by jackson make me want to keep them for next season

nice to see darnell jackson come all the way off the bench to help beno up. where were the other 4 on the court?

Our guys are usually off in their own little world. Our team doesn't help eachother off the floor, or stand up for one another.

Wow. JT didn't even hesitate on that 22 footer. And the result was what you'd expect. This game has looked like a 16 seed vs a 1 seed.

When we traded Landry, JT had a great opportunity to solidify his future with the team, and knew he would get consistent minutes. He's regressed. I don't know what the deal is with him. It actually looks like the game has sped up for him, instead of slowing down, which it should in your 3rd year. Either way, he's failing to capitalize on this opportunity. Inconsistent minutes are no longer an excuse.

There has been regression across the board with our young players. Greene, Omri, JT, even Reke... They were all better last season. Thats on "coach" Westphail. Dude sucks at developing. How are young guys gonna grow when they play on a team without a system?

Or at the very least, a system which doesn't utilize our players strengths. You're right, not one of our players are playing up to their reputation, except Dally and Beno. But the flipside is for some reason, Westy lets Dally do things no other coach has let him get away with, like dribbling through his legs 20 ft from the hoop.

And I thought Minn was embarressed last night. This was a joke. I'm going to ask the question. Have our guys quit on the coach?

Who are, coincidentally, both vets. And you bring up a good point about Westpahl letting Dally do dumb stuff. He lets every player do dumb stuff. If Cousins played under someone like Pop, he would probably have far less TOs and have a way higher fg% (Pop would def keep him in the post). To answer your following post: yeah, I think the team has quite on Westphal. They played horrible to start the game yesterday as well, just got outsucked by the Wolves.

Might be time to resurrect the "Fire Westphal" thread...

You'll never excuse Dally for that, huh? :)

If this team wants to be taken seriously come free agent signing time, they at least have to get rid of Westphal. We look like D. Sterling north. Can the LA media area stand two owners with the same attitude? I know the Maloofs aren't like Sterling but they sure give that impression. Move to a big city and take the big city money and not need to put a product on the floor.

I get your point.

I blamed Dally the first few times, because I saw him play quite a few times over the years, and it's not something he would have tried before. But he has continued to dribble carelessly, and attempted to attack off the dribble. So is it Dally continuously making poor decisions, or Westy empowering him? I think this team has a serious problem with Westy not holding certain guys accountable, while benching others for every single mistake.

I mean, how many times has he benched Cousins for making a poor pass, and then looks the other way when Dally tries to split a double team off the dribble? And Dally is the vet, so it's more understandable that Cousins would make those mistakes.

Remember those "rumors" before the season began about The Kings wanting Dally to be more featured in the offense?

Yeah, I'm with you man... This is totally on Westphool.

Dally should be fined if he even thinks of dribbling. I thought he was smarter than that.
