[Game] Kings at Bobcats 2/25/11 Game Thread

Tetsujin

The Game Thread Dude
And thus begins the Marcus Thornton era...

Apparently miracles do happen since we managed to somehow beat the Orlando Magic with Dwight Howard in beast-mode and us being, well, us and Demarcus putting up another relative stinker in a recent string of un-Demarc-able (trademarked) performances.

Apologies to all for the lack of game threads on my part (I foolishly agreed to pick up the slack from Piksi while completely overlooking the fact that my schedule pretty much dictates that I spend every waking moment on work and school).

Anyways, one of the most important games in Sacramento Kings history occurs in three days time. Be there, be loud. As Mike so aptly put it,
"This is about our history ... This is about our economy. This is about our identity. This is about Sacramento."
- Mike0476

With that said, we come into tonight's game off of a surprising win that no one rightly fully expected and face off with a team that just unloaded its best player. Who knows how the Bobcats are going to react to this change? All I know is that Paul Silas has the Bobcats performing much better than Larry Brown did.

If we can contain Kwame "Occasional Shaq" Brown and his usual Kings-game-only dominance, we have a pretty good chance of beating these guys since we are actually more talented than the Bobcats from the top on down, especially with Crash gone.

JT- Nice.
Demarcus-Put up 33 points is harder when teams are actually defending you, isn't it?
Omri- I wish I had a dllar for everytime another team's color commentator called you Omar.
Beno- Mini-John Stockton
Other JT- Is it too late to cast my vote for MVP?
Sammy D- When did you become Wilt Chamberlain?
Luther Head- A once in a lifetime performance
Donte- Que?
Pooh- If you can't reach the top shelf of the cupboard, the stepping stool is a great tool.
Marcus- Welcome to Sactown (for the time being)
Rest- This guy.

According to Jason Jones, he will be though the amount of time he plays has yet to have been determined.

If his minutes are traditionally Westphalian, he will play 35 minutes tonight, and go to a DNP-CD tomorrow.

The night before last we won by playing a good team game. Do we need Thornton, Evans or Landry? We have Thornton so maybe we'll win bigger!

I'll agree with the OP that our chances of beating the Bobcats are definitely better than they were forty-eight hours ago.

With the help of Dally, JT3, and now Thornton, I have brought the likes of Miami, San Antonio, and Boston to their knees on 2K11 online. People are quitting the game due to embarrassment over losing so badly to Sacramento. Agh, gotta love the virtual world.

I am calling it, we will get a V in Charlotte tonight, and Donte and Boogie will go out for frozen yogurt afterward... when Donte doesn't miss the dunk.

I can't wait to watch Thornton, hopefully he has a nice game off the bench for us. No Gerald Wallace we have to worry about anymore but there still is Stephen Jackson and he can easily go off for 30+. Gerald Henderson is the x-factor IMO, if he has a good game along with Jackson, they will most likely win. Also, if we can hold DJ Augustine under 10 dimes, we have a chance. The Bobcats have been playing better since their coaching chance so it should be interesting to see how they fare without Crash. PS; what the hell has been up with DeMarcus these last couple of games? He's been putting up some serious stinkers, I mean WTF?

Well, he hasn't gone over ten assists in a game since Jan 28, and he's only done it ten times in his whole career... so, hopefully, it won't be that hard.

Kings fans will love Thornton, making that prediction right now. Fans will want him resigned this summer. He'll add a new element to our team. Can't wait to see him tonight.

I think Charlotte will be tough tonight particularly in the first game they don't have Wallace. Cerainly, that's when the Kings have been tough this year - when one of our good guys is out. However, I think our Kings can be tough right now especially if they get off to a good start and jack up their confidence.

Don't forget, it is the Kings so anything out of the ordinary is just well...ordinary in Kings land. Didn't he have 10 assists when we last played Charlotte?

Jermaine Taylor is the starting SG for the future of this franchise. He has all the tools. Not to take credit but ive been sayin this since the game against dallas. Hed be better if westy would give him more of a chance. Reke Taylor Cuz JT Casspi. thornton, garcia, beno, i think thats too many smalls off the bench. I think Garcia should be traded to make some room
