Kings aren't Winners OR Losers

no. i have not been beaten. im just throwing in the towel. some people just dont get it. ive stated the facts. facts that no one can dispute with evidence of their own. they try to soften it up with pity and emotion. they refuse to bring logic of their own.

Yeah, some people just don't get it. I mean, can't they see that they're all wrong and you're right? I mean, sheesh!

What stats have you stated? Only that Greene has scored more points in VSL. What other people have been saying is that Thompson showed more overall, more talent and a better skillset. At this stage, that's correct. Greene is still only 19 so he can get their, but Thompson did show more.

This started off something like this ; Tyrant says no one was impressed by Thompson. A number of posters correct him by saying that he did impress, and post numerous articles of sports analysts who were also impressed. Tyrant can't take being wrong and turns it into something completely different. When proven wrong time and time again, tyrant then blames it on people getting emotional! :D

You couldn't make this stuff up!

lets stay on topic please

Oh please.

Sorry, but you can't make that request - especially with your posting record. If you don't want to discuss the horse dooty on the floor of the stable, don't open the barn door.

If you can't stand the odor, stay out of the barn.

lets stay on topic please

Let me start by saying that I like Thompson, but, I'm not going to extol my expectations of him at the expense of Greene. I think that both of them are talented and both have a bright future. They are entirely different types of players, with, in some cases, similar skills.

Greene is a SF who happens to have some PF skills, and Thompson is a PF, who happens to have some SF skills. If you think about it, they compliment each other. At least on paper.

Any final judgement on them, as in Greene's case, is probably two to three years away. In Thompson's case, probably a year or two away. And certainly not on what they did in summer league. In truth, they did what talented young players with potential are susposed to do. They looked pretty good. Other than that, its meaningless.

Does anyone remember Marco Belinelli? He was the darling of the 2007 summer league. Made the summer league all star team. He impressed everyone. Lets see how that translated to the real season. He averaged 7.3 minutes and 2.9 points a game for the Warriors. This is by no means an inditement of him either way. It does mean that the movie " A star is born" wasn't about the Vegas summer league.

statement; no matter how much you suck there will always be a fan lurking somewhere in the cracks. im sure even kwame brown has a fan somewhere. so when i made the statement that "none one" was impressed with thompson that was obviously a false one. anyone with a brain shouldve figured that out. because my statement was only based on my opinion. what i was saying is that just because he showed a few nice things during summer league doesnt mean he'll be a stud. alot of people here are giving him too much praise. and like i said before..if you go days without eating you will begin to make exceptions. and right now the fans are starving for more excitement. most of you are desperate. you're just gona have to wait. pouring syrup on bread doesnt make it pancakes.

I actually still think he will be a good player. Certainly not easy for any young guys to get time with Nellie at the helm. I had touted Bellinelli as a very good player before the draft even took place. I'm sure I made a thread about him on here if anyone wants to dig it up. I still have faith. He's still young, I cannot stand when people write off guys who've only been in the league a couple years. It takes time, people should have figured that out already. Only the LeBrons of the world come in and play well right away.

Bellinelli, making the transition from Europe, was always going to need longer. He has skills and talent, so I'm sure if he gets the right opportunities he'll turn into a good player. I picked him as my sleeper of the draft.

Anyone with a brain DID figure out that you were wrong. Haven't you been reading the thread?

Once again, you've made comments you couldn't back up, you were called on them and proven wrong and now you're trying to find a way out.

Yes, there is desperation in this thread but I think you're looking in the wrong place to find it. Look in the mirror.

I think you're reading the wrong part of bajaden's post. The important part is:

This is by no means an inditement of him either way. It does mean that the movie " A star is born" wasn't about the Vegas summer league.

He used Bellinelli simply as an example of a young player who can light it up big time in summer league and not show much, at least as yet, in regular NBA play.

I think we can look closer to home. Quincy Douby did really well in summer league his first year, I believe.

Oh, I know, I wasn't saying bajaden wasn't giving him enough time (that was a general statement), I just got sidetracked by the mention of Bellinelli not getting time. Hence my "[/rant]" at the end of my post!
:)

i was not wrong about the topic at hand. when i said no one was impressed that wasnt a fact. adults should be able to figure out that it was a conditional statement. unless its someone other than an adult ive been dealing with in the 1st place. in that case please finish school.

What are you actually trying to accomplish with all your orders, and speaking down to people?

i think everyone should just tone it down here. the offseason wasnt great. let the players prove themselves. this isnt derrick rose we're talking about. so whats all the hype about.

OK, last time:

Topic at hand:
we got rid of ron for acceptable pieces.
True.
tyrant said:
when you think about it that was the only plus for us this offseason.
False.

tyrant said:
no one is impressed with thompson or any other of our draft picks at this point.
Way false.
tyrant said:
i would say its pretty neutral right now.
Debatable, considering the significant shift towards youth, and a player(s) who impressed many people, fans and scouts alike. All of these comments (save the last few) did reflect the topic at hand. Shame on us fans for positivism towards our own players. It's not hype. It's Kings fans, talking about Kings players on a Kings board.

The End.

um, pouring syrup on bread doesnt make it french toast either! ;) let me see if i can find a cookbook

Let me help:

QuickandEasyFrenchToast.jpg

Ingredients
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
1/2 teaspoon McCormick® Ground Cinnamon
4 slices bread
1 egg

Directions

1. Mix egg, vanilla and cinnamon together. Stir in milk.
2. Dip bread in mixture and brown on both sides in buttered skillet over medium heat.

Huh?? Refuse to bring logic of our own?? We like what we see from Thompson, what's your logic?

You seem to be arguing against the majority of the board on this one. I guess you're right, some people just don't get it.

i think everyone should just tone it down here.

And once again, tyrant has succeeded in making this all about him and NOT the main topic of discussion.

tyrant - If you're not impressed with Thompson, I'm not surprised. I've yet to see you make any notable positive comments about any Kings players. And a crumb here or there doesn't count.

You can act as though you're the innocent in this all you like but the truth is there for all to see.

the offseason wasnt great. let the players prove themselves. this isnt derrick rose we're talking about. so whats all the hype about.

Revision at its very best. Nice job.

YOU'RE the one making the big deal about people showing enthusiasm about one of our new players. It's not hype; it's showing hope for the future and there isn't a blasted thing wrong with it. If you don't subscribe to it, just move on and find a thread you do agree with. Let people have their discussion about their team.

As Spike pointed out quite plainly,

It's not hype. It's Kings fans, talking about Kings players on a Kings board.

ive stated the facts. facts that no one can dispute with evidence of their own.

Facts, huh? What was that you said about facts?

i was not wrong about the topic at hand. when i said no one was impressed that wasnt a fact.

Ohhhhh, thats right, you stated the facts, they just weren't facts, and any one with a brain thats an adult can figure out when you said....

no one is impressed with thompson

it really meant.....
Come out and say what you want to say, which is "I'm not impressed with Thompson". Keep it real.

Gotcha!

Anyone with a brain should figure out that making absolute statements out of one's own opinion is a sure-fire way to make that poster seem foolish and self-centered.

Obviously, if you could use some correct punctuatuion, grammar, and common sense about posting one's opinions as fact you could get your point across much clearer.

Unless of course you are just trolling....
