Sure, I'm on the next play. The next play in my mind is to get into the lottery as fast as possible. Are you aware that there was no possibility of keeping Fox?

or use judiciously. This isn’t a worry, but folks need to be aware of the fact that the kings have been getting older with each trade and so our window gets more narrow unless we build a solid talent pipeline, which comes from good draft picks and a high-quality G league team. Both of which the kings have I’m happy to report
It depends on what you're looking for. Per minute Carter is the best APG player at guard behind Monk currently. And by a long shot. Carter has a positive assist/to ratio as well. 5/1.9 per 36. Keon is currently at around 2.1/1.3. Keons role has been as a tried and true 3 and D guy though and when he handles he's not really creating looks for others, he's bringing the ball up, or breaking the plane of the paint and dishing back out. Keon and he together should be just fine from the bench especially if the goal is to enter the ball into the big fella.
I think the more important distinction from Matt George's comment about Keon is Keon is ~2.5 points under the Kings rating where as LaRavia is ~1.5 points above the Grizzlies, so even if LaRavia is still slightly below Keon, that does not make LaRavia the best defender on the Kings, not even close. It doesn't really work like that. Good defensive teams will have lower ratings for all the players. You have to look at where he is in relation to the other players on Memphis that play similar positions. His rating is not quite as good as Pippen Jr, Aldama or Konchar but it's better than Bane, Morant and Smart.
I’m happy to have him.
Damn has this been an active trade deadline. Not only for the Kings but the entire league.
I thought that ended if he got traded? So the new team has to abide by those rules?
I'm anxious about the contract because LaRavia is a legit good prospect that's having a breakout season. Got to have the ability to keep him this summer
So what are you talking about trading away players? We've traded away almost no one (except Fox, and a Huerter which had become an albatross contract).Sure, I'm on the next play. The next play in my mind is to get into the lottery as fast as possible.
Please forgive me, I am just a humble lasagna maker. It doesn't really work like that. Good defensive teams will have lower ratings for all the players. Sure. I think it's likely that Keon gets the bulk of all the backup PG/SG minutes with Carter getting what's left, but four guards in total isn't a lot of depth however you look at it.
I'm guessing odds are that he's not on the team next year. Either he performs really well for us and someone else picks him up for more than we are allowed to offer, or he falls flat on his face and we don't want him. Even so I guess the only thing of value is the 2nd round pick in the trade... we've blown those for far less so I guess that's OK

But I think we will take him gladly!!!
I'll tell you the same thing that I told you when you asked about there being an injury list thread: it is within your ability to create that thread yourself. You don't have to wait for someone else to do it for you.We need a Colby watch, sad to see him go.
Correct. Keon's rating is up there with the big men and the big men definitely get preferential treatment when it comes to DRTG. Jake is more around average, which is fine because an average defender on another team will look like prime Tony Allen on the Kings.
I’m pretty sure Keegan was on the roster before Sabonis’s but I could be wrongDeuce said Domas is now our longest tenured King. Do SoMeThInG MoNtE

yeah right after posting I had second thoughts and double check the dates. Oh well I’ll leave my mistake up there as a lesson in humility.Sabonis was traded the deadline before the beam team year.
Another thing to consider is that LaRavia is often coming in for Jaren Jackson. So it makes sense that the teams overall defense might be worse with him. The fact the difference is that small says he is still playing pretty good defense.I think the more important distinction from Matt George's comment about Keon is Keon is ~2.5 points under the Kings rating where as LaRavia is ~1.5 points above the Grizzlies, so even if LaRavia is still slightly below Keon, that does not make LaRavia the best defender on the Kings, not even close.

Yeah, I think we should be trading away our remaining vets and looking to get young and dumb and full of lottery tickets. So what are you talking about trading away players? We've traded away almost no one (except Fox, and a Huerter which had become an albatross contract).
This has been a fantastic trade deadline even considering the corner Monte was backed into.
We did just lose a guy who was Kings4LYFE in the worst possible way so it is a fair concern.Total Kings fan thing to do: get a dude that fills a massive void on the roster; immediately begin to worry whether dude will stick around next year.
I don't think the average STH has the stomach for that with ticket price increases already locked in and 1 year of playoffs in the last two decades to show for it. This team can still be competitive night to night and send paying ticket holders home happy and maybe make the 2nd round of the playoffs. Considering where we have been this has more value than going right back into the toilet. It's about restoring some shine to ownership and our FO and the city as much as anything. We can tear down with Domas and Keegan out for picks if the next two years are a disaster.Yeah, I think we should be trading away our remaining vets and looking to get young and dumb and full of lottery tickets.
And on trade targets, we ought to look to buy low and sell for high lottery picks.Yeah, I think we should be trading away our remaining vets and looking to get young and dumb and full of lottery tickets.
