:shrug: Season tickets are a volatile, speculative asset. If one wants to be entitled to a certain return, maybe buy a treasury bond?

I don't believe it. We traded for a chicken wing, not a basketball wing, right? Or he's Kessler Edwards in disguise. Or he's going to sit on the bench and get an occasional 5 minutes a game. Or, he will get to know Stockton up close and personal. One thing for sure: If the guy can really play, then someone's minutes is getting drastically reduced and it's not going to be Keegan, the best front court defender on the team, so maybe it's Lyles, the 2nd best front court defender on the team? So what would the net effect be? A slightly better Lyles? Or are we really going ape and believing DDR or Zach's minutes will be reduced? So many "I'll believe it when I see it" scenarios makes it perfect for this team.

Everyone on this team could use about 4 minutes less per game than the prior roster dictated. I am hopeful that Jonas and Jake allow this.

Had him on my fantasy team last year. He can definitely put up offensive stats. Good passer too. Not sure how good he is defensively. The games I saw he played aggressive/physical but lateral speed was subpar.

He was averaging 21 minutes a game (47 games) for Memphis. I think he will likely play.

I don't think the average STH has the stomach for that with ticket price increases already locked in and 1 year of playoffs in the last two decades to show for it. This team can still be competitive night to night and send paying ticket holders home happy and maybe make the 2nd round of the playoffs. Considering where we have been this has more value than going right back into the toilet. It's about restoring some shine to ownership and our FO and the city as much as anything. We can tear down with Domas and Keegan out for picks if the next two years are a disaster.

In my mind, being stuck in the play-in for two more years would constitute a disaster.

I am a shared STH. My partners are already disgusted. The worst possible outcome is get a 9/10 seed and miss the play-offs and lose our draft pick.

I like that. If he can add appreciably to the Grit Department I'm all in favor of it. Will be looking at the box score over the next 10 games or so to see how many minutes/game he plays.

you have options. MLS or NBA. It’s an 1 to Corvallis and 1:30 to Eugene. (Depending where you live).

When I worked with the Mavs on the AAC opening (this was primarily 2002 I think) they were doing at least a million or two in concessions a game. 23 years late I'm guessing this has gone up by a factor of 5 minimum. Especially with all the new ways they've created to separate fans from their money. STH may not be everything to the clubs but the revenue is kind of the cherry on top. TV deals pay for the salaries etc, arena money is straight into the bottom line and the difference between a black or a red year.

That was to satisfy the tv contracts, it wasn't "worthwhile" for any other reason.

Sac basically forfeited their MLS bid because it came up during COVID.

Keegan and Domas more than anyone can use the rest. They are getting worked to death. and DeMar and LaVine are well travelled enough that they should also be around 32mpg tops.

I don't think Keegan is being overworked. Over the last 10 games he's played the following minutes/game: 39, 31 34, 30, 39, 24, 36, 28, 39, 30. Doesn't seem outlandish to me, especially for a guy his age.

He was playing almost 38mpg under MB. So maybe we've dipped off a bit. Still felt it whenever he was off the court. His role on defense means he was working twice as hard in those minutes as some of the offense priority players.

Hopefully they just become piece 8 and 9 that he trusts to play. Christie hasn't given anyone off the bench any sort of leash outside of Keon and Lyles. Now, he should be comfortable going 9, with ease.

Trading up to get Colby Jones is a sunk cost. Unless you still have faith in Colby Jones as a player (I don't) there is no sense keeping him just to keep him. We wasted a pick on him either way. I don't see getting a useful player for even just this year as lighting a 2nd on fire. Using 2nds to dump Davion was lighting on fire.

I would guess the play here is they hope he is a solid performer for us, loves it on sac, flies under the radar and then we sign him to the 5Mish contract we can in the off season.

Interesting. This dude lit us up big time in the Summer League game that I went to last June. He plays with swagger too. He should be a fun player to follow in the second half of the season. Hopefully he gets decent minutes and he looks good enough in those minutes for Monte to re-sign him.

The max we can pay him is under 6 mil a year it sounds like. That is the main reason Memphis let him go. They didn’t give him the qualifying offer or whatever. Basically any team that offers him more than 6 will likely get him. However I pointed out a guy like Jalen Smith who signed with Indiana on a cheap deal. I don’t think that is out of the question considering most teams don’t have cap space and want to stay under aprons
