It should be announced very shortly that Brian Skinner, one of the three players acquired in last year's trade deadline day move of Chris Webber to Philadelphia, is himself now going to be moving on.

Skinner, a backup center many thought was underutilized here in Sacramento, is reported to be going to the Trailblazers in part of a 4-team deal that will bring Seattle Sonics player Vitaly Potapenko (nicknamed the "Ukraine Train") and Trailblazer Sergei Monia south to don Kings colors.

Brian Skinner came to Sacramento last year and quickly became a fan favorite with his shot-blocking abilities. Although two jammed thumbs severely curtailed his effectiveness last season, he made another block that will live for a long time in Kings fan memories when he slapped away a shot made by Shawn Marion that had Marion staring in disbelief.

Skinner, nicknamed King Tut by members of Kingsfans.com, will be missed by Kings fans.

Good luck, Brian!!!

Skinner - I loved what you brought last season, and were solid this year when you actually played over 8 minutes :). Good luck in Portland where you'll be utilized consistently.

boy aint that the truth. I wish Rick would have used you more. But farewell my man as i know Nate will give u mroe time. hopefully 20mpg.

I am seriously so saddened by this. He was my favorite of the three that were brought here for Webb. :(

Good Luck Bri-Ski and I hope you will play many more minutes than you received here.

I always have soft spot in my heart for Christian athletes........all the best Brian.....good luck.

He'll get a chance to shine in Portland.

I hope he comes through. He seemed like a good guy and a hard worker.

It's a good financial move for us. Vitaly is worthless and gone in a year. Monia might have potential.

Good luck Skinner! You'll definitely get minutes. Hopefully you don't like to touch a basketball, because it's rumored that Randolph will eat you like a McDonalds Big Mac if you touch the ball.

Take it easy Brian. You were a cool guy when you came out to the local bars, and I think you could have been more productive if you were actually used more. Hopefully you'll get the playing time you deserve in Portland. Starting Rahim at Center when Brad was out a couple games was absolutely ridiculous.

I'll never see anything about King Tut without thinking of Skinner. He was fun and he was a nice guy.

GOOD LUCK, BRIAN!!!

Brian, you will be missed...I always was rooting for you, yelling for you to get some PT, rather. Hopefully your chance will come in Portland...you deserve to be a starter and will possibly get that chance.

A short-lived Sacramento career, but the guy won a place in my heart. I think it was the facial hair.

Yay, an expiring contract!

Too bad we weren't able to find a place for Brian. I'll always remember that rejection of Shawn Marion in the preseason (and so will Shawn I imagine).

Brian, you are one of the best shot blockers the Kings have ever had, and I respect that. But I guess your time is up in Sactown.

I hope you have a better career in Portland.

Have a good time in Portland.

You deserve better Brian and should get a good amount of playing time in Portland. I liked you and wish we would have played you more.

When SAR with his wired jaw and all got the start at Center when Brad went down, I knew something was up.

Skin-NER!

Sorry to lose you, now I have to change my sig.

Farewell....

I'm so glad you still had that, Alacron. That was the exact image I had in mind.

:D

Farewell Brian! Best of luck in the future! I hope you find a team that will utilize your talents more! My son will never forget shaking your hand at Fandemonia!

Man:mad: , Skinner was my only shot blocker on NBA 2K6!

Oh well, Good luck.

Lol, that's got to be the best quote I've seen on this board.

You'll be missed Skinner! See you on monday... I'll be at the game!

Farewell Tut

I too really enjoyed Brian's play and wish he'd seen more playing time. While many of his blocks are great memories, my favorite memory of Brian will always be standing outside ARCO after a win last spring and watching Brian, his wife, and kids walking to their car. Brian was carrying the carseat and when my daughter yelled "Great Game Brian, Thank You!" He looked up, waived, and said, "Thank You!" A small thing, yes, but it made her day, and showed her that players were regular people with families and issues, something she needed to understand.

Brian, I hope the trade works for you, the way you worked for us, as a King! :D
