King Keegan

Keegan hasn't made excuses, but clearly the wrap was affecting him, especially early on. I wouldn't be surprised if we see an uptick in his play/numbers down the stretch.
Domas going through the broken thumb for like 2 months now too and he had a bout of illness in the stretch of that. Getting him and Keegan 100% might be just as good as adding a rotation piece at the deadline.

Yeah but is he a good defender who can finish at the rim?
What's absurd is his best 2 NBA qualities (shooting, perimeter defense) were essentially his 2 biggest question marks coming in. And honestly, he's done very little of what actually got him drafted as a #4 pick.

It's ova once he starts to integrate his college game with the off ball shooting and perimeter defense

I really didn't think about this but it's a great great point along with Huerter now finding his shot and contributing a lot more lately. Let's get Monk back and get a winning groove going

In the last part of this he mentions hearing Keegan’s name at the trade deadline. I wonder if he is working with real info or just a talking head that doesn’t know anything.

"Kings would have to throw in Keegan Murray and 3 FRPs to acquire <X fringe star player>" were the only grumblings I heard.

Sounds like the typical "some people say" lead when we're about to receive media propaganda.
Yeah if Keegan is in a deal, it will be for a legit all star level talent. Even as the role player he is now. The hope is that Keegan now that he's been prompted to move up to his abilities other teams will be having to throw in those picks in a year or so.

Keegan was a 3 level scorer in college. The question mark was whether his 3 point shooting would translate. I expect Keegan to unleash more of his low post and mid-range game in the next 2 years. I expect him to eventually be a 18-22 point per game scorer in 2-3 years.

Possibly. He's going to have to learn tobe crafty to get open for those mid-range shots.

The current topic about Keegan reminds me of what Fox briefly mentioned in a recent interview. I think even the FO and players are aware that for this team to have long-term and future success, we need Keegan to play a big part of it.

Just in case anyone missed it, Fox was asked by a reporter about Sasha Vezenkov because our assistance coach went over to Greece to watch Sasha play during the All-Star weekend. The reporter asked Fox if he knew Sasha and Fox responded with, "you know I've actually looked at film of him, and it's funny because I tell Keegan this a lot, and I'm like, Keegan if we want to win a championship at some point, you know either you're going to be one of those guys, or we're going to find one of those guys because at the end of the day I think.. it's an extremely wing-based league where most of the time the better teams have one of the better wings in the league. Being able to see someone like him (Sasha) play and what he's done in the Euroleague is crazy... you can never have a team that's too deep... I think he would be a great fit..."
