I wanted to do a poll on this just to see where alot of you stand and for me to get some insight into a question thats in the back of my mind if the impossible happens. I know there are alot of intangibles to the to choices like Bonzi not being signed by us, or if Bonzi was to come off the bench and all that. I want an unconditional answer. who would like to be the starting SG between Bonzi and Kevin?

Now as for me I would like Kevin Martin to be our starting SG. My reasons are he is more of a perimeter player that goes hand in hand with Rons game where as Bonzi being more of a post player clashes with Ron and pushes him to the outside where he is average not a superstar. I know Bonzi rebounded great but besides getting around 2 or 3 more rebounds than Kevin i feel Kevin is more of an offensive and defensive threat.

here we go again....beatin' a dead horse and ridin' it through a ghost town....then hoppin' off the horse and beatin' it once again against our better judgement....

I don't remember ever seeing this asked. it is relevant to recent threads and is a question I would like to see views on. I asked for thoughts on the subject of the thread and a vote. If you feel it is "beating a dead horse" then my friend you kicked the horse yourself by typing out the uninformative post you just felt was a crucial.

now that's a silly thing to say. if no one could ever conceivably speak the words "beating a dead horse" within the context of an oft-debated topic without "beating the horse" themselves, then the phrase surely would not exist.

and apart from that, a poll never may have been created on the topic, and a stand-alone thread may also have never been created on the topic, but that doesn't detract from the fact that the debate over which one of these two SG's should start has been argued since well into last season.

Yeah but can you tell me right now where everybody that has mentioned it stands? I doubt it which is why i wanted the poll to see where everybody stands. Come on wtf are you even reading this if it is so silly to you. All your doing wasting space with your needless meandering posts.

you are quite a bitter fellow. and you answered your own question. to meander is to wander, last time i checked. so what am i doing reading this thread? i'm a'wanderin'...

Wow I was assuming I was one of the only ones that wanted Kevin to start no matter what. 50/50 right now this could be very enlightening and get some interesting thoughts to the reason for the vote.

Not to say I would mind Bonzi coming back. I would love to have the option of Bonzi coming off the bench. When he came back from the injury he did really well off the bench and Kevin did really well starting.

I wouldn't be all that surprised to see Bonzi come back with us next year.

I voted for Bonzi but it would only be for this coming year. If I had it the way I wanted it would be Bonzi for one more year with Kevin more or less our sixth man assuming his development continues at its current rate. After that we would replace Bonzi in the starting line-up with Kevin.

Not to mention the fact that it's completely irrelevant since only one of those players is actually on our team.

Yeah, I had a problem with the request for an unconditional response too. Since only 1 of those players is a King, well..

I think K-Mart is the future of the kings, i wanna see him come up and shine, he impressed me big time last season, i didnt expect much from him but he showed me.

Bonzi was cool, im a huge fan, but im disapointed in the whole deal turn down thing, i think either he ,his agent ,or both had ego inflation to the fullest.

This poll is about as relevant as asking if we'd rather start Kenny Thomas or Kevin Garnett. One of 'em ain't an option.

Kevin Martin deserves the starting nod. However, if we want a chance to contend, we need an experienced OG. With that said, I don't expect Bonzi to sign with the Kings and will happily accept Martin filling up that postion and shinning bright.

I love Kev to death but he needs atleast one more year to add more muscle to his body then he will be ready

Kevin is always going to be wiry; it's part of his genetic make-up. Based on reports from summer league and people who have seen him recently, he looks just great.

Martin in a heartbeat. I have been saying this since last year. Martin fits our playstyle better.

Kevin's outside shot balances the Kings...and provides something Wells doesn't really do all that well.

I like Kevin's outside ability more so...allowing the Kings to go inside or out, rather then inside all the time sans Bibby.

IF you can bring back Bonzi for a one year contract, YOU DO IT- no questions asked- let Kevin start and have Wells come off the bench.

Amazing that people always complain about a talent bleed around here and would out and out refuse to sign Bonzi if he were interested. I have never heard of a team complaining about having TOO MANY options and TOO MUCH talent.

If you can get him for 1 year- $3-4 million, you do it and let Musselman figure out the rotations...

The reason we were effective against the Spurs and other teams is because the Kings played an inverted style of basketball. Our bigs play small and our smalls play big. Bonzi is a perfect compliment to Brad's game because Brad brings out the opposing center and allows Bonzi to board and abuse his man down low. This won't work as effictively with Kevin starting.

The guy just wanted to see how some of us think between Kev and Bonzi. Relevant to you or not, it is something to him. A simple question people..geesh.

I voted KMart. Why? Because I think he was awesome last year and still have bundle of improvements. I like Bonzi and eventhough he is better than KMart last year(debatable), I don't think he can improve anymore than what he did last year. The guy maxed out his potential while KMart just started.

Although i would love having Bonzi back for one more year, developing Kevin Martin into the baller we know he is going to be is more important. My votes for Martin.

Well i am pretty pleased with the results. I thought it would be more on the Bonzi side since that is all most of you have talked about all offseason. I appreciate the ones that just answered the questiong or voted. The ones that questioned relevence thanks for the insight as I had no idea Bonzi wasn't a King. I really appreciate the heads up.

If we had both, Bonzi Wells until such time as Kevin actually took the spot away on the court. If and when that happened, then switch. If it didn't, then you're covered.
