Kevin Martin

I loved Martin tonight, he was everywhere! He's been so good and getting nice experience these last handful of games. As it should continue.

3 guys with "any questions?" threads dedicated to them! i like it!

Kevin definitely stepped up and did a great job!

he really made use of his 45 minutes!

8/13 fgs
5/5 FTs
7 rebs (4 offensive)
2 assists
3 steals
22 points

he's young. i'm definitely letting the 4 TOs slide ;)

Looks like he's starting to "get it". He's making smarter plays and finally starting to use his athletic ability in creative ways.

GREAT JOB. I knew he had it in him!!!! I hope this builds his confidence and he keeps it up! way to go.

What I see is less tentativeness and growing confidence. And I like it! Yay Kevin..hard work and patience can pay off.:D

he gets better with every game that passes by. he has a big future ahead of him. and that reverse layup was SICK!

It's amazing what a little extra playing time does for a player's confidence!!

Confidence being a key word here -- for most of the past season and a half Kevin has wandered around out there like Peja's less mentally tough younger brother. These last couple of game sit though it looks like he may finally have put that baby boy in the corner stuff away before it strangled his career. Now he is just out there playing like he belongs, and proving he does. Amazing how much of the game is really from the shoulders up.

There will be several adjustments ahead, the first when teams start to gameplan for him, the next when his role changes again. But a stretch like this can be a career maker for a player.

If he starts moving off the ball more often, I will be quite pleased. My biggest knock on Martin's game right now is that he still likes to stand in the corner when he doesn't have the ball; how is he supposed to become "the next Rip Hamilton" if he doesn't move off the ball? :D

Totally and completely awesome. Kevin, Mike, Kenny and Brad - with some help from Corliss - reminded us what Kings basketball is supposed to look like. That was the most fun I've had watching a game in a long, long time!

Kevin has the athleticism we've dreamed of for a long time. Somehow, "wow" doesn't seem enough, but it's all I kept saying as I tried to be objective for the PBP.

wow...

:D

He's saving that so he'll have something to add to his arsensal once Bricklayer adjusts his grading standard.

;)

I will tell you this, Brick. Despite what the perception of him on the court thus far may have been, that kid is anything but soft mentally or physically. Searching for an identity? Certainly. Trying to fit in? Even more so. But that kid, no, that man, is anything but soft. He has struggled with finding a role where he is not the featured player, or the go to guy, hell, not even a starter. Sometimes not even playing at all. Hard to get a 'feel' or a groove. He has the skills and he has the mental toughness. I have never doubted him

I would like to see him take those open three's he had late. I guess the last 2 min of a game confidence will come just like the rest did. Great Job KEV now you have me wondering what to do when Bonzi comes back. BTW i think it was NME that said he can overlook the 4 TO's yeah its easy when he had 0 TO's against the Clips.

Peja and Reef for J'Oneal and Bonzi starts the 3. JO said he wanted to play with Bonzi here is his chance.

Huge plays by Kevin tonight, really got the crowd back in the game. He has stepped up big time so far, A+.

So what happenes when Bonzi comes back ?
Wells will start, of course; he's still been our best player through twenty games, and you don't lose your starting spot to injury when you're playing well. I just hope that Martin isn't forgotten.

I will say that I am impressed with the way that Martin has stepped up, even if he only got the opportunity by attrition; it sure looked like he was buried underneath the doghouse for a while...
