Kevin Martin

Well, i just have to check in on this one. I confess i was one who couldn't see a way into this series for the Kings but was thrilled beyond words as pandemonium hit my household of friends watching the final moment.

Just nice to have one on our end. Improbable that Bibby ended up being the one to jar the ball loose and even more improbable to see K-Mart take it home w/ great focus, agility, grace and concentration.

Just a thing of beauty.

I gotta confess that i am starting to believe in Artest. That guy has got some serious intention going on...

I like his hunger.

Glorious night for the Kings and all of Kingdom come.

May Sunday raise the bar and the glory.

Any questions?

That has got to be the most unbefrickinglievable finish to a playoff game to date. It was CRAZY!!!!!!!

Remember Kevin's dunk when he intercepted the inbounds pass and took it to the other end and JAMMED it home.

That was an amazing dunk!

Yes. Would you like to be our Big Shot Kevin until death do us apart?

i'm so happy for him he is one amazing player and he has tons of heart and determination. he's proven he can play with the big boys and not just play, SCREW OVER he is the next generation of kings and our future yay for kevin martin, he's gained hero status :]

AWESOME GAME! I am so happy I was there to see that. In all my years going to games, I can only remember a minimal number of times ARCO errupted quite like tonight when Martin's layup went in.

WTG KEVIN AND THE SACRAMENTO KINGS!!!!

I was at the game too, and I can't even describe the feeling in the building when that shot fell. It was chaotic....and amazing. Kevin was mobbed on the floor, Gavin Maloof was running/jumping/skipping everywhere. Everyone in the stands stayed for a long time after the buzzer was over because they all were celebrating.

THANK YOU KEVIN for giving me a King's moment that I will never forget!

I love KEvin MArtin> i think he has alot of upside, and he made a great play tonight... but i still find it funny how everyone is now saying "OMG MR. Clutch!!!! lol" I mean dont get me wrong it was awesome! i loved it, I literally cried when it when in... it was amazing. Wonderful finish, and dish from mike. Not that I dont belive he is going ot be good, real good. but i just think its funny to be like ooooooooo hes the savior lol

Reasonable thoughts following an extremely emotional moment that encapsulates years of daggers into the Kingdom's heart and soul.

This Kingdom just wants to know that somebody local can make the big play and Kevin, given all his strengths and weaknesses, made THE play that will easily emerge a beacon in Kingdom's fabled history.

Keep in mind, there were only a few seconds to work with. We were down a point. He had a lot of court to cover, two very good defenders to include the inimitable Tim Duncan right in his face and only fate left to consider.

It was all literally a blur in time and space until the backboard buzzer lights flashed red and the ball dropped in.

That is some delicious drama.

May that elevate Kevin's game and the Kings momentum.

Remember, RA (and in this case Ron Artest) made some compelling promise about this series. Who are we do doubt that man at this point. He is possessed.

And one final thought;

Mike Bibby, as has been noted but bears repeating, you are the unsung hero.

You made it all happen w/ some defensive valor.

That's exactly how you slay the dragon.

Again and again and again...

It happened so fast, I hardly remember anything. It took me like a second or two to realize that we won, thats how much i was into it. I still can't believe it went in, but im not complaining. Im just really glad we won and hope the momentum shifted in our direction.

Why does that sound like a bad pick-up line?

The better question woule be why does it work so often?

In England I used to be slightly embarassed about my strong accent and tried to tone it down as much as I could (never mumbled though unlike Pedja). Here I found myself trying to affect it.

America is a weird and wanderfull place. ;)

Well, for that game, he certainly was the savior. And that shot was certainly the definition of clutch. Here's a guy, left off the play off roster last year, in essentially his rookie season play offs wise, game on the line, going at Tim Duncan, who actually got a hand on that ball as Kev first went up, before he changed position of the ball and contorted that thing in. Not a second of hesitation, not a moment of fear or doubt. IMO, that's how clutch players are made. You have the guts to try it, some go in, and your confidence buids from there.
