Kevin Love

Kurt Rambis seems to be favoring A. Tolliver more lately - especially late. Love's minutes are shrinking it seems, and as professional as he's been I'm sure the frustration is growing.
We have players we don't think will be here long due to decisions that need to be made, what if we were to do a package deal Minny's way.

JT/Landry + Donte + (heavily protected first or unprotected 2nd) for Love

While we love these players and I'm not sure if my deal posted is enough and the atmosphere in Minny is correct to even consider this....

Gives us an insane rebounder in Love to make-up for Cousins' weak rebounding so far. Get a pretty solid offensive game (inside and out) in Love.

Cousins/Dally
Love/(JT or Landry whoever is left)/D. Jackson
Casspi/Garcia
Udrih/Head
Evans/Jeter

I honestly believe David Kahn will be STONED to death if he trades Kevin Love.

But man, if the Kings can actually pull a trade on him off.. wow.

we would be amazing if we landed love however its really not plausible. They shipped off big Al because he wasnt working with Love and really the city would riot if they packed love away.

Yea but on the other hand they're givng love like 24mpg lol.. and the wierd thing is he double double in those short minutes too, with no foul troble.

Yeah, Love is out of favor, but the power is his. Rambis will be canned before Kahn trades Love at this point I think.

Should actually note that he is another lousy defender and below the rim guy, but you stil have to love the skills and burly man rebounding.

Cousin's weak rebounding? Here's a quote from another site that I read this morning.

"He beats Derrick Favors and blows Blake Griffin away in defensive rebounding; he's actual No. 20 in the entire league in defensive rebounding."

I think the ony reason his rebounding numbers aren't blowing people away is because he's only been playing 23 minutes a game due to foul trouble....

First off, I'm just blown away with how people can draw conclusions from just four games. Cousins was the best rebounder per minute to come out of college in the last ten years. I doubt he's forgotten how to rebound, and thats the least of my worries with him. His biggest problem right now is figuring out how to play defense in the NBA. Nothing new there either. Most players coming out of college have never looked up the word defense in the dictionary. Especially those with just one year of college. When you get someone like Tyreke who starts off as a good defender, your blessed.

As for the trade. I seriously doubt that Minny will even consider trading Love. If they leaned in that direction even a little they never would have traded Big Al. If Rambis can't figure out a way to use Love, its his a$$ that will go, not Love's. That aside, I doubt we would give up a proven player like Landry and still have to throw in Greene and a protected first round pick. Other than rebounding, Landry has better stats than Love does. However, I would love to have Love. He's one of those guys that has a lot of those intangibles..

Yeah, I dont know where all this "Cousins has rebounding problems" stuff is coming from. His fouls have totally affected his minutes and numbers and thats really the only problem he is having.

O, and no thanks on Love. I know he is a beast rebounder and offensive player but he supposedly is a really lazy defender and has really poor conditioning, which explains why his minutes are so low rather than him being in some kind of dog house. I like him alot, but we would be forced to start him and I just don't think he fits with what were doing.

If we're looking for a PF, it needs to be the PF version of Sammy D. Could be Whiteside in a few years, but we need another defensive anchor in the near term if Cousins and Dalembert can't play on the court together for very long. Love's nice, but he's not that guy.

I should have clarified my statement when I made it - my apologies on that.
I don't think Cousins' will end up a weak rebounder but so far he's not dominant at this point in his career while he learns the ways of the NBA (technique, etc).
Does that help? It wasn't a conclusion of me thinking he's a weak or bad rebounder

Heard on NBA TV that the owner has given Rambis the word - play Love! I don't think they're trading him. And when you think about it, I don't think there would be good defensive chemistry with him and Cousins at all. There are some defensive liabilities there.
