I can't remember who on Grant's show today. Might have been Ryan Lillis, the Bee writer (and a good one). Talking about KJ, the person said to remember that great players always think they're going to win and that's the way KJ was about this, too. I think he got 'er done, because he would never think of failing. He's got the winner mentality. At times it can be a disadvantage, but when the chips are really down, give me that "I WILL win" attitude. 
If that passway in front of the arena is a road as well as light rail, name it Kevin Johnson Parkway or whatever the naming convention dictates. I think that is a possiblity that people could get behind and twist the arms of the powers that be to get done. Maybe give it a temprary generic name until he is no longer mayor. Not sure of the propriety of naming a street after a person in power or alive for that matter.
KJ might move up in politics but don't people get the idea he enjoys benefiting Sacramento? What exactly he does in the future might effect how he can be honored. I DON'T want anything temporary like a life time supply of FANS t shirts. Not knocking FANS, here.

I agree with needing a statue of KJ. I really want to see a Statue of KJ, Carmichael Dave from Sports 1140, Duke Ellington, and a few of the other folks who have been huge in the social media storm. Then I'd like to see a wall with all the names of supporters. The supporters can pay for their name to be on there, like a buy a brick idea. The proceeds from that can go to building the statues, etc. It needs to be done. This is history. A movie may be made about this some day, and not just the SMBH Documentary. This doesn't happen, this wasn't supposed to happen, but.....Love found a way.
lot of great ideas to thank Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson a man who will be remembered in the hearts and minds of all Sacramento Kings fans. His name will be enshrined in the history of Sacramento as the man who led the negotiations for a new downtown Sacramento arena which insured the retention of the Sacramento Kings franchise for the next 30+ years. Thank you, Mayor Kevin Johnson.
