I like the idea. It depends on how things stand come draft time. Harris's stock has fallen significantly since his Dallas days. He's shooting 35% on the Nets. He's obviously a quality player, but no one is going to mistake him for being a catalyst for wins like they might have a couple years ago- now he's a solid starter for a good team. If he keeps shooting poorly and the Nets continue to suck, he's not gonna be worth much.
The other side to this is how good Martin is looking at the end of the year. A lot hinges on how well this team plays when he comes back.
So, I like this for the simple reason that Harris/Evans could be one of the best backcourts in the league. On paper, they are better than Martin for the simple reason that Harris takes half the shots that Martin does.
I don't like this trade because if Martin goes I want to see something better than Harris in return. Preferably a big.
Harris and Reke are too much alike. Ball dominant slashers that can't shoot.
And he's smaller. He's a worse fit than Kevin in most ways.
Wins the thread. Its the most true statement that can be made.Any trade that does NOT involve getting a big to help out Hawes and Thompson sets us back.
Let see him play with Tyreke for atleast the rest of the year. Martin and Evans have the potential to be LETHAL! Throw a shot blocker into the mix and we'll be REALLY tough to compete with.wow, stop with the trade Kmart.....lets see him play with Reke for atleast 20 games...
And he's smaller. He's a worse fit than Kevin in most ways.
Plays defense and can help create ala the Beno/Sergio pair. I want a full size running mate for reke, but Harris definitely brings useful things to the table that Kevin does not, and vice versa.
I agree 100%. Well, kind of 100%.Any trade that does NOT involve getting a big to help out Hawes and Thompson sets us back.

Yep. Size matters.![]()
Much as I think that Kevin has the potential to mess up a good thing here, I simply don't understand the Kevin for an ender line of thinking. Our biggest and best trade asset, and people occasionally advocate just dumping it?
We have an opportunity here, with a big move of some sort, to truly make this team legit again. This isn't tear down time any longer, this is build up time.
With kevin taking 25 shots a game we will never be winners. He gets injured now all of a sudden we are winners (more than with him) Tyreke is the player to build around kevin is in the way
Kevin Martin/Thompson for Harris/Lopez???
Take out JT and Harris and it's a package worth building around.
Its unbelievable isn't it.Much as I think that Kevin has the potential to mess up a good thing here, I simply don't understand the Kevin for an ender line of thinking. Our biggest and best trade asset, and people occasionally advocate just dumping it?
