Gill plans one more fight before return to NBA

NBA veteran Kendall Gill made his pro boxing debut a short one.

Gill dispatched Trevor Biley in 1 minute, 58 seconds in their cruiserweight match in Chicago's Aragon Ballroom on Saturday. The 6-foot, 5-inch, 199-pound Gill knocked down the 5-foot-10 Biley (0-2-0) three times.

Gill, a swingman who has played 14 NBA seasons, was pleased with first pro foray in boxing.

"My team prepared me exactly the way I'm supposed to be prepared," Gill told the Chicago Tribune. The former Illinois star has been training the last 18 months for a boxing career.

"I want to fight one more time and then go back to the NBA," said Gill, who played 14 games with the Milwaukee Bucks this past season. "I'm a very young 37."
