Keep THIS starting lineup? (merged)

I guess that's why we're a terrible 2-0 with this group and a wonderful 10-17 with the other.

Well, considering the "other" has never been on the floor together, I find it hard to believe they are 10-17.

The difference in the game would be that this lineup is going to be a better defensive team than the lineup you propose. In every roster spot is a better defender than on the other side.

In my opinion - Reef would destroy this team in the post and they'd be forced to double. Once the double came, it'd be all they could do to stop Bonzi and Peja.

But, it's a moot point .... it's all just conjecture.

To be fair to both groups, they both have our bench players. Starters although slumping at times, have perform well enough in many games to give us a win only if bench would have performed better.

If anything good can come out of this is that after all our starters are back, we can have one cohesive unit where starters and bench give us a decent production on the floor.

Who is it easier for the starters or the bench? The starters get close to 40 min whereas the bench gets the leftover 8. Now that some of our bench players are getting time, they are able to establish a flow. And its that continuous flow that I want to see no matter who is on the court.

If Adelman wants to play the original starting 5 then it is obvious he needs to cut their minutes to about 30, and he needs to do this for more than one game. IMO the change in the amount of minutes is the varying factor that has disrupted our performance.

If Peja were made to come off the bench, wouldn't that blatant lack of trust from his own coaching staff pretty much tank his perceived trade value? Better to keep him in the starting lineup, let him get his minutes and pile up the points and try to package him with Kenny/Corliss/Skinner for an impact player.

i dont know if you guys heard but the kings are thinking about bringing back eric daniels because of all the injuries.

I do not think it is our players that are the problem but the configuration of the players. Most teams have people that specialize in certain roles that make the team better. We have a bunch of carbon copies when our current starting team is on the floor. What I mean by that is other than Bonzi we have 4 slow defenders that are great at 10 to 15 ft shots. Martin for Peja adds speed to the starting lineup and a shooter to the bench.

I think we have seen what speed and athleticism can do, so I suggest like others on this post that we mix in some athleticism with out current starters, and some shooting with our bench.

Bibby, Martin, Bonzi, Miller, Thomas would be a good quick team. We would have a lot of speed and two slashers to the basket for miller or Bibby to feed. I would take SAR out of the starting line up because I view him as a go-to guy and a floor leader, and we already have that in Bibby so I see SAR talents wasted with two floor leaders on the floor. For those who do not agree that SAR is a floor leader just watch him when he is out there without Bibby and Miller, he becomes the go to guy and someone the rest of the team can trust.

Peja needs screens to score points and who better than Skinner to give him those. You will still have Garcia off the bench as a slasher for SAR to pass to.

I like the zone we have ran the last two games and I think what makes it different now is that Garcia and Martin are fast and disrupt the passing lane. I think a zone defense with Bonzi and Martin and the Garcia and Hart/Price would work as well.

With the starting team of Bibby, Martin, Miller, Bonzi, and Thomas and a bench of SAR, Price, Skinner, Peja, and Garcia would give you speed on both teams, some scorers, and some defense with the zone. With this line up I like 28 minutes and 20 so that it becomes not about starting and minutes but about who plays best together and where can their strengths be used.

If Peja continues to play doesn't that tank his perceived trade value? The answer is yes and thats why we trade him ASAP. If we could package him with any/all of those guys, especially for an impact player, then don't you think Petrie would have done that already?

its only been two games im not sure that kevin should start full time yet lets see how this homestand goes first. and we dont need another jumpshooter in the starting lineup when are you guys gonna understand that! we need a post up player like SAR who can draw double teams and kick it out to shooters like brad bibby and maybe peja depending on whether we keep him or not. and bonzi is also a great post up player who before the inury started making jumpshots. bonzi has also shown hes great at passing out of the double team. so when you have guys like bonzi and SAR drawing double teams its fits better with the 3 shooters. the good thing about these injurys are were finding out we have a very good bench with kenny and kevin as the main guys coming in the game. hopefully RA will give them more time when the whole team gets healthy and when they do this team will kick butt.

Although we having veterans play the starting lineups, I think we should have the bench players get into the mix as well. Starters are obviously chosen for a reason, yet our bench is filled with a lot of talented individuals who seem to lack the experience on the court. To my surprise, Adelman has done a great job so far trying to incorporate Kevin Martin and the other rookies to get the job done. Overall, the lineup Adelman has going with seems to be pretty good, but what I'm worried about more is the team getting a deep bench. We used to have this privilage of having that deep of a bench but of course, we had to let them go due to whatever reason...
