How do we get him involved? He's MIA in this series. They play defense up on him and his lack of dribbling ability make him useless. They need to run him off multiple screen the way the Warriors do it for Klay.
Not to sound like a doomer, but I don't think you can. Klay has done a great job sticking with Keegan and he hasn't been able to make himself open. With those multiple screens, you have to think about the difference between a guard freeing himself up vs. a forward.. the guards are a lot faster and quicker.
We're 2-0 with Keegan pretty much being a non-factor.. and I'm ok with not getting him involved if it means we're winning. I think he just has to continue to fight with Klay and create opportunities for himself. His lack of dribbling ability does make him pretty much useless, but that's not something we can really fix on the whim.
I think that a case could be made that he's been the best rookie in the 2023 NBA Playoffs.Yeah, I think this is just a tough scenario for Keegan to be in. Really highlights why rookies are basically never on good teams or play huge role on good teams; it's freaking tough in the playoffs.

As I said about the last 3-4 games of the regular season, Murray is experiencing in real time what he needs to spend the summer working on.To be honest midway through the season when it looked like we were likely to make the playoffs I pretty much expected the playoffs to be a learning experience for the team. The fact that I'm over the moon watching our team kicking ass in the playoffs makes it harder to lower my expectations but the truth is that for a rookie a lot of what's going on right now is literally just learning what works and what doesn't work and what the NBA playoffs are really like. Fortunately we are blessed with a team that's very deep so letting Keegan have a little time to learn with hasn't cost us anything and is absence creates opportunity for guys like Monk and Lyles. I'm not sure the answer is to start gimmicking up plays as much as it is to keep defining his role and see if he can live up to it and if not be okay with his growth so far and push him for next year.
And this is why we are able to put Mitchell in with Fox and Monk and not get murdered for it.This is a case of matchups. GS goes small a lot, which often puts a smaller, quicker player on Keegan.
At this point we have no reason to cater to Keegan’s game. As others have pointed out, he isn’t going to force anything and the Warriors have done a great job of taking both Huerter and Keegan out of the DHO. I actually thought he played pretty well in most of his minutes game two he just didn’t get any shots up. Keep doing what we are doing and if he is open I fully expect him to take the shot.
Then post him up. He has a back to basket game. Not to sound like a doomer, but I don't think you can. Klay has done a great job sticking with Keegan and he hasn't been able to make himself open. Absolutely. Talking to girls in high school, I felt like Ethan Hunt disarming a nuclear bomb while free-falling from a jet. Ten years later, it was second nature. Eventually I talked one into marrying me (haha—sucker!).
I think Keegan is terrified. May take him until his third playoff run to feel totally comfortable.
Perhaps it’s the play style, but he looks lost and reluctant to act to me. But the advanced stats may disagree with my eye test.I don't think so. His defense is a good sign that he's not. He's been taking on the challenge. Offensively he goes bye bye with the system, it's just the way it is with him being a role guy in the scheme. I've brought it up numerous times that he has so few iso plays that he doesn't even register in the NBA stat sheets. That means almost ALL of his points are created by others and as Domas' assists have plummeted, that means so do Keegans opportunities.
