This is a thread for those who have realized that they are Kingsaholics. Today, I kicked a student out of class who jokingly told me I was wearing a Sacramento Queens shirt. I didn't think it was funny.

I have to confess, I grew up hating basketball. It was the glamour sport at my high school, and I played football and wrestled....
I never followed the NBA, just didn't care! One night in April 1999, I was flipping channels and stopped on the Kings Jazz Playoff game. What a dogfight!! My wife fell in love with Vlade, and the Kings. Then my kids did too. In 2004, I broke down and took them to a game. Then we went to a few playoff games. The Arco crowd. The noise. The excitement. Usually very calm, suddenly I jumped up and started screaming at the officials over a totally BS foul call on Bibby. My wife looked at me, and laughed. She knew I was hooked!
I remember quite vividly, it was sometime during the 99-00 season. Up until that point I hadn't watched many NBA games; except for those during the Jordan era. While in college in Rhode Island, I was flipping through the channels on TV and suddenly stopped to watch an NBA game. That night I saw a team absolutely dominate from start to finish. But it was the way in which they dominated. I had never witnessed such style and panache when it came to basketball.... I literally fell off my chair. There was such exquisite passing, outstanding chemistry, remarkable shooting and exceptional teamwork. And not to mention the the frenzied atmosphere. It was really a sight for sore eyes. From that moment I knew I was hooked.
I check in here before my emails in the morning. I own lots of purple wear. My daughter can tell you a lot about bball thanks to incessant info being flooded into her brain.
