Thank you for providing these stats for the "steadiest player in the league."
I'm trying to figure out what your agenda in all this is.
You see, for me it's pretty simple. JT is a very good role-playing 3rd big, who bring qualities you want from a 3rd big including rebounding, hustle, get-out-of-the-way-ness, decent post defense, the ability to play both positions (which is huge), and a decent contract.
I spent quite a bit of time going through the entire league to look at each team's 3rd bigs to give you a chance to clearly prove that somehow JT as a player is no-where near good enough to be considered a team's 3rd big. I even made it easy on you as I went through and mentioned the players that I would take as my 3rd big over JT. I think I mentioned around 7 of them. So in my mind, if JT would be in the top 10-15 for 3rd bigs then that makes him a solid 3rd big. I don't know how you can look at the league and all the bigs out there and sometime convince me that Ryan Hollins or Darrell Arthur is somehow a step up in talent.
So are you saying that he isn't a quality 3rd big, if we were fortunately enough to procure another big to move him to the bench, or are you just saying that you don't like him. If you personally don't like him, that's your business, but it has nothing to do with what abilities he has and what his ideal role should be on an NBA basketball team.
I should also point at that the stats which you're so happy about which were provided by '89 Kings Fan were of his fouls/36. Considering that he's only getting 23 minutes a game this year, those numbers are not even true stats, but projections of what the stats might be if he were to play an additional 13 minutes a game. But since we know that Malone is playing JT limited minutes this year, its entirely possible that Malone has told JT to go out there, get physical and don't worry about fouls.
To somehow suggest that an increase in fouls/36, which isn't even a true number, refutes the idea that JT 'Is who he is' (to quote Bricklayer) makes zero sense at all.
Since the Rudy trade JT's PER is a bit above 10. In the last few years his PER has been between 11 and 13. So his minutes have dropped and 10 games into a revamped roster his PER has slightly declined, but you see, this actually supports the idea of JT being who he is.
He isn't a star and he isn't a bad player. Over the years he's shown to be a steady role-player.
My agenda is pretty clear on this, so again I ask, what exactly are you trying to convey with your negative comments towards JT?
