Jonny Flynn #4

Flynn seems intrigueing after I read up on him.

And if Petrie likes him there has to be something going for him.

I wonder if we'll be trading down some spots...

He's one guy that if we traded down for, I wouldn't be too upset. If Petrie likes him, I'll feel a lot more confident about him. His shot mechanics look real good, he should be able to improve his mid range J and 3 pt with some work. Don't know if he's a special playmaker though, a good one, but more than that I couldn't say. I'm curious how he'll measure out, because his size still concerns me.

I think its probably what kind of point guard your looking for. I would say that Rubio, Jennings, Flynn, and Lawson are more pass first pt's. I think Curry is more of a shoot first pt guard, which is alright as long as he fits the style of play your looking for.

As I said, I wouldn't pick him with the fourth pick, but if we were able to move up from 23 or trade down from 4 and maybe gain another pick, or a future pick then I would be alright with drafting him.
I wouldn't take Flynn #4. Idon't think he is even the 4th best point guard in the draft. #1 Rubio, #2 Evans, #3 Jennings, #4 Lawson, #5 Holiday, #6 Flynn.

I'd be okay with Flynn, I really like him, but not really at #4 unless we trade down for an extra pick or get rid of a bad contract. He seems like a reach at #4 and Petrie likes to reach

if we can trade for another pick like #5 from washington i would be cool with that. but with the #4? nope....

Your entitled to think whatever you want. I would put Rubio and Evans ahead of Flynn. Jennings has proved nothing so far, and I wonder if he had stayed at Arizona and played there as freshman if we would have him rated as high. Truth is, he' making the most off of his less than stellar year in europe. I like Holiday, but once again, he's proved nothing. Lawson has won a national title and certainly deserves kudo's for his accomplishments, but I think Flynn is better. I think Flynn is a reach at 4, but I think Jennings is a bigger reach.

I've been saying all along that I think GP is using this pick to fill a need at PG.

Thus, it does NOT make sense to trade down. Teams picking from 6 to 8 are also looking for PG, so how can you trade down? Go down to #9 and pick the leftover? Swap pick with #6, #7, or #8 so that team can pick the better PG? The logistics doesn't work.

If we do trade down, it basically means giving up on drafting a PG. If I have to guess what GP is trying to do, my guess is he's trying to trade up.

And oh, don't trust the mock draft. They're never accurate at this point in the game. If the Kings like Flynn then you can bet that Min, GS, and NY like him too.

Totally Agree!!!

I fell in love with Johnny Flynn during the Big East Tournament last year. Don't know if he's as good as he showed there (he was a BEAST during that tourney), but I'd like to have him running our show. This kid has a huge heart and while he might not be very tall, he's built like a friggin' tank! I don't think he'd have much trouble finishing at the rim. His court vision and passing ability are excellent. His moves? They speak for themselves. The only thing that worries me is his three-point shooting. It has to be better. But I'll still take him over any non-Rubio PG in this draft.
