if we trade salmons should we draft him if he slips to to us with our hou pick he's 6'4 or 6'5 averaging 26 a game very good shooter very athletic does pass the more than his assist say just that his teammates blow open shots can drive in strong and finish strong i think hes a upgrade to back up martin i say

heres his stats

heres a highlight where he exploded for 54 point

Hes an undersized 2 guard. not a true point. we have a grip of 2s. we need a pg. rather have mills or collison. Kings can score enough already.

like i said he holds his own on defense... people were saying the same thing about wade that hes undersize for the 2 and hes not a true point im not comparing them im just saying jodie meeks hes a upgrade off the the bench playing the 2

Nothing like Jason Richardson at all. He's not that athleitc, a little undersized at 6'4", but holy crap does this guy have a midrange game. Can pull up from anywhere, quick release... question is, is he athletic enough to overcome his lack of size? I think the jury is still out.

I like Meeks a lot. It all depends on who we draft with our first choice. For instance, if we were to draft Harden, then I doubt we would go after Meeks with the second first round pick. I know everyone wants a top flight pt guard, but I still think you take the best player available. There's going to be a few good point guards in the 2010 draft, so I don't see a need to reach.

That's a really cool name. Unfortunately, I'm not impressed at all. He doesn't seem to be a point guard, or even a combo guard for that matter. His assist per turnover ratio is horrendous, and he needs to jack up eight shots per game just to even register an assist--so clearly there's either extreme tunnel syndrome here, or an extreme scoring mentality. Admittedly, besides Patrick Patterson, there's not much talent, and Kentucky lacks depth in the worst way, so I'm willing to give Meeks the benefit of the doubt here, but he doesn't even seem to be able to get assists by accident--with his usage rate, averaging less than 2 is a horrendous number. He's got a real scoring mentality and can really stroke it--those numbers are excellent--but I think he's really, really one-dimensional. He's strong built, but not a great athlete which doesn't make up for the fact that he's an undersized SG--in fact, honestly, he reminds me of Voshon Lenard (a strong built guard who can also shoot). I honestly don't think he should enter the draft this year--Stephen Curry stayed behind, had more credentials, and far more unselfishness and passing ability than this kid. Meeks would be drafted for his productivity, and not his potential--I seriously have reservations on whether he could learn point guard skills on the fly in the NBA, much less in college. Of course, there may be a GM out there who may be tantalized by his offensive explosions and take a flyer on him in the second round, but that's probably where he belongs with his current production, at best. I think he fits into the cliche of great college scorer who may struggle in the NBA.

P.S. And if we do draft Meeks, that brings us to another selfish scorer in the mold of John Salmons. Do we really want that?

Hey, im new here but been a kings fan since 98. I've been doing some research, and ran upon this guy from north dakota. Ben Woodside, his name. I've heard some good things about him but never seen any highlights, but his numbers look good with 24 ppg almost 7 assist and 1.5 stls a game and shooting 47.5 from the arc! the only downsize i see from is hes undersized for PG at 5'11 . What do you guys think? Not a first but the kings could pick him in the second round.

He's the classic guy who suddenly pops up in draft website scouting reports solely because of his productivity--but nothing else. A shooter, and seems unselfish--but it's easy to shoot well and pass well when you're playing against Northern Arizona or Georgia Southern. He turns the ball over a bit too much, so he's not your classic point. He plays against poor competition, and has so many variables going against him--height and athleticism which affect his inability to play defense well, and plus he's turnover prone. He'll get invited to Portsmouth solely on productivity, but unless he really works his butt off and diversifies his game he'll probably be better off in Europe. I see a smaller Chris Quinn, but who knows.

Actually he turned the ball over more with teams likes Northern Arizona. He played well against solid teams like Minnesota, USC, and Oral Roberts. Averaging 18 pts 8 ast and 1.6 stls with 3 turnovers a game. Patrick mills who is, as ive seen in other threads been praised to be really good. The things is that he turns it over almost 4 times a game I know he's athletic and all but maybe what we need is a good productive PG for a change.....I'm just saying maybe we should give this guy a chance.
