JO to Sac?

No, no, no, no...nonononono. We don't need another PF with bad knees. JO has a very bad left knee I believe. It's been very apparent it's bothering his playing, and it probably won't get any better. His fall from grace has begun.

I didn't read the article, but just no. I don't want JO or his big contract. We are rebuilding, he is the opposite of what we need.

wow... what're they thinking? I would rather take Nene.

I liked JO, but his condition got worse.

And what would be our cards for that mega huge contact? Well.. let me see. Deal between Artest+KT+SAR and JO would work. I'm happy for moving KT and SAR, but having JO??? I think that's not good at all for both teams.

Or our cards would be three of Artest, Salmons, KT, SAR and Mikki. I really hope them not to consider sending Brad.

Whatever our cards are, I don't like the idea. If they would get both KT and SAR, then I'll think for a while.

After I heard this a day or two ago I kept on wondering who called who? Our interest? Theirs? Just the constant Sacto-Indy pipeline whereby we screw each other every few years as both franchises continue to tumble? In any case, J.O. can't come here if Ron stays. And Ron can't go back to Indy. So it had me wondering...some sort of three way trade involving both guys?

You could for instance:

Sacto out
Ron $7.8mil
Brad $10.5mil

Sacto In:
Jermiane $19.7

Denver Out:
Nene $8.8mil

Denver In:
Ron $7.8mil

Indiana Out:
Jermaine $19.7mil

Indiana In:
Brad $10.5mil
Nen $8.8mil

But frankly I do not know/think that is what either Indiana or the Kings are, or should be trying to do right now. Those are not rebuilding moves -- Jermiane will be 30 by the time next season starts. Only thing from our perspective would be if Jermaine did well for us he could have serious value in another trade. but then again, if he did, and he was the old Jermaine, we proabbly end up keeping him.

The whole point of adding JO to the Kings roster would be to infuse him with our CURRENT core of Martin/Ron/Brad...who have all the value. Since Kenny/SAR/Mikki/Salmons have little to no value to the pacers I don't see a deal getting done.

Um, do you guys understand rebuilding? All of you guys saying "NONONONONONONONONO"?

If this trade would dump Brad's contract, SAR's contract, and god forbid Kenny's contract for a 2 year-er, you do it any day. Even if this guy doesnt play a game for us.

Come on.

JO still has 2 years left on his deal for $44 million. Brad and Thomas also have 2 years left. SAR has 3 IIRC! Not exactly shedding salary now is it?!

i guess thats true. we do owe the trio of them nearly $55 million over the next 2 years and JO could still be an All-star level player. hes only been hurt this year.

SAR also has two years remaining. He signed his deal a year before Salmons and Salmons has three years remaining.

When JO visited Arco a couple of months ago he look liked SAR before he hung up the sneaks for the season.

In terms of salary and ability, JO = KT *2, so if you advocate trading for Jermaine O'Neal, then you are in favor of adding two Kenny Thomas' to our roster:eek:

I like JO, but he has a player option on his contract this year I believe, and there's always the chance he can opt out. Probably won't though with all the injuries

Even if he was as healthy as he has ever been, there is no way he would turn his back on $44 million over 2 years. No one in their right mind would opt out of that sort of deal!

If JO is healthy, he can play at an all star level and if he comes to Sac, the Kings would be a playoff caliber team, maybe making the 2nd round. JO can score, rebound, block and is necessary for the Kings to be more competitive in the West. The only thing is his health, if he remains healthy he can be great. Also, I don't think he will walk away from $44 million.

That's true, I wasn't sure of his salary. I was just thinking that JO wouldn't wanna play for a rebuilding team at this point in his career

This is the only trade I would do

Jermaine O'Neal
6-11 PF from Eau Claire (HS)
15.3 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 2.5 apg in 31.3 minutes

Outgoing Players

Brad Miller
7-0 C from Purdue
14.6 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 3.6 apg in 36.3 minutes
Kenny Thomas
6-7 PF from New Mexico
1.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 12.2 minutes
Shareef Abdur-Rahim
6-9 PF from California
