The fustrating aspect is that some of us have been talking about this for years. This is the way a rebuild works, yet many thought these guys would never start to turn the corner. The timeline with the arena is horrible, but the writing has been on the wall for years for those who have wished to look.
That and many people thought the Maloofs were being cheap and didn't want to spend money. This is how you do a rebuild and even though we can't predict the future, its obvious to anybody who's patient and paying enough attention that this team is going to be really good, really soon.
Good all around game. A little let down at the end of the second quarter, but other than very well played. I think we can safely say that Evans and Thornton can play very well together, and with some experience together, could end up being one of the better backcourts in the NBA. Gotta give Thornton credit. He knew his outside shot wasn't falling, so he just went to the basket and scored, or dished for an assist. I thought he and Tyreke played off one another very well. Add Cousins into the mix, and I can see plenty of 20 plus assist nights in the future.
Thornton has much better vision and is a much better passer than I think anyone really knew. That is what seperates him from Kevin Martin and that is why I think he can play with Reke. Its a little too early to tell though... So far so good.
