[Game] Jazz vs. Kings 4/3/2011 game thread

That was a fun game to watch. I also like the fact that there was a lot of people at this game today.
 
I think both Cousins and Tyreke could make a big leap next year. If they do, we should be sniffing the 8th seed even if the only thing we do this summer is resign our current players.

That and many people thought the Maloofs were being cheap and didn't want to spend money. This is how you do a rebuild and even though we can't predict the future, its obvious to anybody who's patient and paying enough attention that this team is going to be really good, really soon.
 
Good all around game. A little let down at the end of the second quarter, but other than very well played. I think we can safely say that Evans and Thornton can play very well together, and with some experience together, could end up being one of the better backcourts in the NBA. Gotta give Thornton credit. He knew his outside shot wasn't falling, so he just went to the basket and scored, or dished for an assist. I thought he and Tyreke played off one another very well. Add Cousins into the mix, and I can see plenty of 20 plus assist nights in the future.

What can I say but "yes." It also can be used against us. It can be twisted to say that low attendance is the reason for leaving while I think THAT is a natural problem in a rebuild. It all can be twisted and has been.

I think you are hitting something on the head. The phrase "basketball IQ" is an interesting term but the three youngsters around which this team will be built know far beyond their years. Cuz perhaps has the most to learn such as when to throw into traffic and when not but he whipped a ten foot pass to Reke under the rim that Reke caught one handed and then scored. Sometimes the passer needs a catcher. Seriously, athleticism is NOT over rated. Gerald Wallace is the perfect example but in this case, thre are very few people who would have caught that pass much less one handed. There is also a lot to be said about hand size. Do they measure that in the pre-draft stuff? The Bee put a life size outline of J-Will's hand in it and I couldn't believe how big it was. I'll bet, Cuz, Reke, CWebb and the people with so called soft hands have huge hands.
 
Thornton has much better vision and is a much better passer than I think anyone really knew. That is what seperates him from Kevin Martin and that is why I think he can play with Reke. Its a little too early to tell though... So far so good.

Not only that, but he also seems to play a lot more aggressively. I mean, he's always looking to attack on the break, and just plays hard. You see him always going inside to try and grab rebounds and stuff. Sure, sometimes he starts settling for outside shots and tries tipping the ball instead of securing an offensive rebound and throwing it back out, but if you ask me the fact that he's getting those boards says a lot. Not to take anything away from Kevin, but I he generally didn't play this aggressively and always seemed to try to draw/bait players into fouls over really attacking.
