Yes, Knicks had to win a game sooner or later and yes it sucks. At least we are not playing Hawks or Raptors (on 25th) any time soon. It will get much worse before it gets any better. People say that losing builds character. Whoever made this up - must have lost a lot in his/her life because losing sucks.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings are 2-5 (who is counting anyways) eventhough this team should not be called Kings. Some things one should earn. Things are so bad that we can't beat a winless eastern conference team at home. We used to own and I mean own eastern conference at ARCO.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't really know how to get players who have everything to "give a damn" every night. I know how it works in Europe when it come to soccer. Now it would never "work" here but in some cases it would be appropriate. When a team loses a lot first they get rid of the coach. If the performances don't improve a "committee" of hard core fans shows up unannounced at practice and tells players what is expected and what will happen if ... Usually that is enough. In certain cases in Italy or Serbia there were some demolished cars or bloody noses but the effort from that point was always there. Now, I am in no way saying that it is the right way or that it should be done. I am just saying that it has worked before.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
It took only 7 games and 5 losses for Pedja rumors to show up again. If Kings want to keep pedja - it is simple. They can offer most money and longest (6 year) contract. Pedja likes money more trhan Chicago. I am not saying - they should. I am just saying they could. Every other scenario gets very messy. Last year Kings were couple moves away from lottey. Now, Kings are one move away from a high lottery pick. We still did not deal with Webber's trade. Last thing we need is another "garbage" trade.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pedja has assumed Webber's role at this point of time because he can't do much right at the moment. But then again he asked for it. Situation is very simple. If Your team is losing - Your numbers are never enough. And the team is losing - badly. And it is still very obvious. Kings will win if and only if Pedja and Mike play well at the same time. while everyone else contributes - they don't really matter that much.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Princeton offense is only good if one has right people. We don't. Not anymore. Copies are never good as the originals. No matter how identical they seam to be - they are not. Vlade >>>>>>>> Miller and Webber >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> SAR. End of story. Last night Brad & SAR 12 turnovers together. I don't have the numbers but I would be shocked if Vlade and Webber had total of 12 TOs twice in 6 years that they played together. There is no substitute for talent. At the moment princtone offense is in the coma and it is maybe time to pull the plug and end the suffering. No need to ruin so many great memories
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our "core" is having a meldown that goes beyond "chernobyl" (no offense to anyone here). We are losing because as bad as those 3 play they are the only players that are acustomed to winning. The new guys don't really know how. It is a bad mix which is either going to explode or implode. Neither one is really good.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
We lost to Knicks and Knicks still suck. They shot 50% + for the first and maybe only time this season. I say maybe because we have to play them again in NY. We commited 21 TO's, missed tons of FTs and allowed 52 pts in the paint (or so). These are the numbers common for Hawks and Raptors. Sad.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
We play Jazz next that is without AK47. I would like to say that we will win but I will believe it once I see it. It is a Sloan team and it will fight and if we give them everything we gave Knicks - they will beat us.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - any time now Mike. Pathetic so far. Allstar Wannabe.
Pedja - 31 - 8 in a LOSING effort. Maybe Harpering can get the best out of him again.
Brad - 2 rebounds in the last game ? for a 5 footer playing center - 2 rebounds shoul be a statistical error.
SAR - Turnovers and missed FTs are concerning. Still playing as well as we can expect from him.
Bonzi - consistantly inconsistant. At least - his contract expires.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bench - scored as much as Crawford (16) and got outscored by Frye (19). Bench players are supposed to bring energy into game and not to suck. Now we have some youn players that will need time. We also have experienced players. We just can't get rid of them because nobody wants them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
RA - clearly suffering out there. For how long ? Is he supposed to beg players to "give a damn"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jazz- play like they always do. As bad as they are without AK - thay are good enough to win if we "let" them. As always - someone will have a career night. Let's just hope that Ostertag obeys dress code:eek:.

Is that anything like the villagers grabbing the torches and pitchforks and marching on the castle?

AK will be out for a week. Matt Harpring will get a DNP because he can't play back-to-backs because of his surgery. Giricek, DNP last night because of Tarnocolius or something, must be a sickness. Probably again tonight. McLeod may not play because of back spasms.

Kings win. Even if 2-3 of those guys did play, I'd say Kings win.

I wouldn't be suprised if they didn't. Chris Webber averaged 3 or more turnovers through his career, but Vlade was VERY efficient with the ball.

I don't think one statistical anomoly is enough to insinuate they can't handle the ball though. Even with that game - Reef is at 2 TOs a game, while Miller is at 2.5. That's not god awful considering that they both had 6 TOs in one game.

There is no substitute for talent. At the moment princtone offense is in the coma and it is maybe time to pull the plug and end the suffering. No need to ruin so many great memories
The problem isn't lack of talent, but trying to force players to be something they aren't. It's like asking Shaq to run Miller's position. Shaq would be AWFUL! But, he's got talent.

The issue is that we're trying to be something we aren't. We're playing AWAY from our strengths and towards our weaknesses.

This is what I was driving at last night -

Reef is a low post player. We've got him in the high post. Half the game he looks lost and frustrated. Is it his role to do this or is he just "not getting it"? I don't know, because we all look that way.

Peja is a spot up shooter and is deadly at it. We've got him driving to the hoop and creating his own shot. Half the game he's jacking up shots that he has no business jacking because he can't create space. Is this what he's being asked to do?

We've got Bibby playing some sort of SG role. He dishes the ball off and runs around looking for a shot.

We've got Bonzi thinking he's MJ.

We've got Miller clustered at the top of the FT line with Shareef standing there with a thumb up his tuckus or clustered on the left side with Peja and Bonzi forcing his way into the area.

It's ugly.

We need to play to our strengths. Our strengths now are a constant low post threat and two players that can simply snipe. If we play to this instead of asking them to play these weird and foreign roles, this will create more spacing.

you're so right it's funny. as usual you are right on it piksi.

this should be a dog fight, i don't see sacramento winning this game. the jazz have always been a hard nose team and the kings will be too soft to shake lose.

I wouldn't be so confident. The way Sac is playing, Utah could use a four man rotation and still beat us by 20. Yeah, the Kings have 20x more talent than the Jazz will tonight, but until they start playing with any modicum of consitency, they won't ever be a lock to beat anyone. New Orleans took us down, people, let's not forget it. These Kings won't let talent get in the way of losing.

i really don't no who is gonna win this game.. depends in which sacramento team turns up and how bad utah plays.... utah did play last night against a hard nosed defending new york...

that actually could come to an advantage to the jazz...

just hope theres no easy layups tonight, good rebounding and most importantly effort on defense by all the team including the bench... seems like thats just way to much to ask these days

not sure who exactly is gonna win cuz i thought we'd lose against denver at home and win against new york at home (although i did get the suspision the team would not turn up against new york after the win against denver).

newayz, if its a win i hope it comes becasue the whole team plays well and when all deserve B's or over.

GO KINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I certainly hope so. In Utah's condition the Toronto raptors should beat them. I really consider it almost a necessity. Drop this one off of the New York debacle and things could get ugly.

Tag will OWN Brad Miller tonight. Mark my words. :D

Well, maybe not, but either way its going to be fun watching these two buddies bang eachother around.

Good Times Bad Times... excellent choice of theme music

Gold Lemay Jersys... bad idea period. If you want to show the hard nosed Jazz how tough you are VERY bad idea... Tag is actually in a position to criticize his former team mates about the shorts THEY are wearing.

ouch.

never forget- we lost to new orleans and gave ny their first win. we should absolutely positively win this game, but don't put the cart ahead of the horse. lets let the game be played before we start handing out the post game awards and denouncing utah's roster. you never know, 3 hours from now we could be wondering if we can somehow get milt palacio for mike bibby. (well, not really, but milt could outperfrom mike, you get my drift)
