[Game] Jazz @ Kings - 12/8/15 - 7 pm PST, 10 pm EST

I think Curry isn't a wasted roster spot. He can play both guard positions and shoots well. He is undersized, but tries hard to make up for that.
Unlike Jimmer he can handle the ball and has a quick enough release to get the ball in the air before the taller defender closes out.
Not too bad for a 3rd PG/SG.

I totally agree. And, as an added bonus, Seth "gets it." He actually understands the concept of court vision about which, I firmly believe, James Anderson (for example) doesn't have a clue.

we still have a shot. Gobert looks like he'll be missing some time, and we've had a season like this before. With Artest we were 18-26 at one point, got healthy and turned it around completely to win 44 games. Its a long season

true. one can hope. I had this being on cusp business. We can all see we have a squad more than capable of pulling through

We dug ourselves a hole early this season, Sacramento Kings style, but we have the personnel this time around to potentially turn things around. The question is, can we/will we? Can we face our demons? Will George Karl continue to suck? How many meetings are we going to have this season?

The Kings are a bad match-up for the Jazz without Gobert and Exum. "Our point gaurd play has been pretty bad to the point that Snyder has gone to a triple wing look with Burks, Hayward and Hood at the end of most close games. Favors is one of the few guys in the league that has the size, power and quickness to bother Boogie but was need his scoring so bad that I doubt we can really afford to have him play defense on Boogie unless it is close late in the game. The other guys on the roster don't really have a chance and guarding him at all. He is going to get double teamed a lot and Snyder is good at sending guys at the right time and from the right spot but if Boogie is patient he should have a monster night.

I hope that the Kings come out flat and play with no emotion but this is a game that the players know they have a good chance to win. I expect the Kings to play well. I hope we have a good shooting night and make some 3's. If not it could get ugly.

Hopefully there are no injuries, the game is fun and the Jazz win!!!

Go Jazz!!!!!

This will either be the start of a better stretch or one of the final nails in someones coffin. Even if they had Gobert a home game against a 8th seed contender is a must win.

Was interesting listening to Napear on my ride home who finally is talking about what many here see.

-Cuz is on the perimeter far too much, belongs off the elbow or block
-backcourt isn't working
-our pace isn't helping our defense at all and correcting our defense if it means we have to slow it down needs to happen ASAP
-part of our poor defense is our poor offense, a product of pushing the ball and forcing passes
-at 20-25 games in, there aren't any more excuses, it falls on Karl to turn it around as that's what he gets paid for

He wouldnt be saying this stuff if it wasnt backed by the higher ups, Karl is clearly walking on thin ice.

I think that's a good observation. Or at least once was.

Part of Grant and Jerry's stupidity annoying me over the years was the conviction that they were largely parroting party lines, and so all the dumbness was in fact indicative of the sort of stupidity that can keep a franchise in the lottery for 10 straight years. I can't be sure Grant has that same pipeline now with Vlade, but I sincerely doubt he would ever say anything putting him in strait opposition to what he perceived the Kings front office as standing for.

Okay, here's the deal. You're a member of a KINGS forum, which is fine. You like another team, which is also fine. Our team is playing your team, ditto on the fine.

What won't be fine is you rooting for the Jazz in OUR game thread. Didn't allow it with Laker fans, didn't allow it with the other occasional fan of the opposing team, and not gonna allow it tonight.

GO KINGS!!!!!

I strongly suspect Grant has NO kind of pipeline with Vlade. If anything, the only media person who has consistently gotten decent interviews with Divac has been Voisin.

...

OMG. George Karl on the pre-game is talking as though he's totally baffled by Cousins' performance. He thinks his jumper might be off, "his body doesn't seem in tune," his jumper isn't fluid and "has a little bit of hesitation to it."

WTF?????

You're George Effing Karl, the effing coach of the effing team, and you don't know what's wrong with your franchise player? Are you effing kidding me?

I am, as of this moment, officially on the "kick the senile old man to the curb" bandwagon. The pre-game interview he just gave was arguably the worst drivel I've heard from a head coach, and I've listened to a lot of drivel the past decade or so.

George Karl is a downright terrible interview, pretty much every time. I have long ago stopped bothering to seek out or even watch Karl pressers. Part of it is probably his lack of projection as a consequence of throat cancer. Part of it is the way he seems to play dumb (and I don't think he is - you don't get to the top of the NBA mountain without being brilliant) for obscure reasons. But any way I look at it, there's basically nothing of value to be had from them.

While I disagree with your hopes, I appreciate your write-up.

I didn't seek out the interview. It was in the background and I actually stopped and rewound it because I couldn't believe what I was hearing. James Ham asked the leading question and Karl replied with what I posted above. It really sounded like he has no idea what's going on with DMC - and that bothers me a lot.

Oh well.

GO KINGS!!!
