I thought Jay deserves some love for saving Monk’s NBA career and being instrumental in getting him to re-sign with the Kings. He also was DDR’s first coach, picked him up at the Sac airport and was instrumental in getting him to sign. He also orchestrated the best offense in NBA history in his first season with us. He also is bat spit crazy and talks to a mannequin in practice. Lastly, he may or may not also go by “Dan Hurley” and coach at Connecticut.

he has one of those muscle man mannequins that he uses to demonstrate stuff and is pretty goofy about it. I think it’s in the original “The Run”

What’s the backstory on saving Monk’s career, and his role in recruiting DDR and getting Malik to re-sign? Is there a recent news article I missed??

Monk has said that Jay was the only person that kept him sane when he was struggling in Charlotte. Has credited him with essentially saving his career and played a role in him coming to and staying with the Kings.

As far as DDR goes, 1320 today said that Jay has a relationship with him and was the one that picked him up at the airport. They came back and watched film on Fox and I assume discussed how he would look in the offense.
