Jared Dudley

what does everyone think of him at SF? hes a good shooter and as far as i know is a good defender. I'm sure we could trade for him and phoenix shouldn't want that much.

He'd be a fantastic fit. He's brilliant 3pt shooter, has a great B-ball IQ, solid defender, and doesn't need the ball to be effective. Problem is, PHX knows that as well and isn't going to trade him for peanuts

we could offer them jimmer, who could be someone to take over nash if/when he leaves. They will need a PG after he is gone and jimmer will put people in their seats.

ya id love him in a kings uni, but i believe hes a fan favorite over in phx. But Nash is the glue that is holding that team together right now, when he leaves, i bet nearly everyone is available for the right price. Probably just gonna have to let that play out until they decide to trade nash or let him walk.

ill take batum or dudley. This team is in desperate need of a legit SF that can shoot the 3 and play defense. Who would thought it be this hard to find one.

One thing Dudley would provide is outside shooting. He's a career 40% 3pt shooter. The downside, if you want to look at it that way, is that he seldom attacks the basket, with around 80% of all his shots being jumpshots, and only 10% of his shots at the basket. But the dude can shoot the rock. Defensively, I wouldn't call him a lockdown player, or even someone I'd rave about. The plus/minus is slightly in his favor, so he's not a liability there either.

It should be noted that he's most successful when playing SG instead of SF. But then, he's played at that position more than SF. So he's someone that would help our outside shooting, but I'm not sure he's the defensive player we're looking for. I'm also not sure why the Sun's would want to trade him since they just signed him to a long term, and very reasonable contract. If I'm the Sun's, I'm not trading him for Jimmer. One is a proven player, and the other isn't. So I doubt he'll be wearing a Kings uniform anytime soon.

You are asking for a lot. You want a shooter and a defender and then one who is between 6'6" and 6'9". :) Actually I presume they don't have to be very athletic but then how do you play defense without being athletic? Oh, well. I think we are in good shape if we can get the paint defender as I think that is far more important. Someone like, Daly. Sigh.

but thats fine if he shoots nothing but jump shots bc we already got enough people who drive it in. He can sit at the 3 point line or on the wing and take shots all day as long as he makes it.

i dont think its really that much to ask for. The warriors have two SF's in rush and wright who shoot the 3 and play defense. We have our future paint defender in whiteside if freakin keith smart would give him some damn playing time. I have faith he will take a jump into the rotation next year with more experience and having cliff ray as our big man coach.

Generally the role playing SFs on good to great teams are always great defenders and good 3 pt shooters and are between 6'7" - 6'9" :D

Batum fits the bill. Wright is around the mark. Bowden was sort of the prototype of that type of player. Posey was another one etc...

They are not THAT hard to find but you are right that interior defender is of greater need. Having said that, I will that if we don't get a SF, Reke will forever be played as a SF by Smart until he eventually leave to go to a team serious about winning.

So in my book Priority 1a in the interior defender/shotblocker and priority 1b is a SF with size, defense and long range shooting.
