Jackson finally agrees to two-year extension to coach Lakers

This only means one thing. Kobe is going to get some help. The Ariza deal may not exactly what the Lakers need to get over the hump but it was a step in the right direction. Even with the team they have in place, they should still make a lot of noise if they tighten up defensively, and keep working hard after practice with Kobe being the leader in that department.

We gotta watch out. That could just as easily have been a move to make the fans content that Phil can no longer play Cook (it sure as hell made me happy).

Kobe trusts Jackson. Jackson stays, it's an invitation for Kobe to stay.

Fortunately for the Laker front office, they didn't succumb to Kobe's pressure and they kept Andrew Bynum. Andrew scored 20 points, 11 rebounds, 5 blocks, 0 fouls in only 28 minutes of play vs. the Warriors. And he was displaying all kinds of moves. This kid is something special. He has the desire, the work ethic, and the physical gifting, along with the support of the Lakers in hiring Kareem to be his coach. He is improving by the game too. If he keeps it up, the Lakers could contend next year.

I hope Kobe stays with the Lakers. As Arenas said, "Where are you going, Kobe?" Kobe is the face of the Lakers. If he opts out, takes a paycut, and rides somebody's coattail to another championship, it will only tarnish his legacy. Kobe needs to grow up!
