J Rich = Mitch?

Does anyone other than me wonder if the J Rich/Wright trade may end up like the Mitch Richmond/Billy Owens deal?

Maybe I'm biased, but I don't think that Jason Richardson will, at any point in time, ever be the most talented player on the Bobcats... certainly not the the most talented by any significant margin, as Rock was.

He definitely gives Charlotte an offensive option that they were sorely lacking. And he and Wallace will be a potent 1-2 combination in the league if they resign Gerald...

Are you saying that you expect Wright to put up mostly empty numbers for his career and fail to live up to the perception that he's a franchise player, like Owens did?

I think it's a different situation. With the Richmond trade, Golden State was solely banking on Owens' potential, while this time, they also wanted to unload J-Rich's salary.

I am saying that J Rich and Mitch were proven players of comparable talent in the league. Until B Wright plays for a few years in the league, one will not know for sure whether he will have motivation to work hard or end up like Billy Owens. I remember Nellie saying after the Richmond/Owens trade that anytime you get bigger, you get better. I agree, though that regardless of how B Wright turns out, the Warriors were happy to be rid of J Rich's contract.

Saying Mitch was the most talented player on the King's was not really saying alot. Look what he did for the Laker's.

What's your point? Look at what Chief did for the Bulls. Look at what Walton did for the Celtics. Are you saying that suddenly means that the years in which they were great didn't happen? How about taking the relative stage of the player's career into context?

For pretty much Richmond's entire run in Sacramento, he was not only unquestionably the best player on the Kings, but he was arguably the second-best SG in the league.

Yep. I remember even MJ himself commenting on how he good he though Mitch was.
