Its 2003, Win Us That Title

The year is now 2003. Your Sacramento Kings are the favorites to win the NBA Title. All season long they have had to battle injuries, but they have still won 59 games, still finished with the best FG% defense in the league, and have crazy depth. But not depth enough to survive what happens in the 2nd rnd.

In Game 2 of the Second Round of the Western Conference Playoffs Against the Dallas Mavericks, the Kings suddenly lose their franchise player, and their future, as Chris Webber crumples to the ground with a career changing knee injury. The championship hopes crumble with him.

Save us. Pick any one Sacramento Kings PF, from before or after 2003, to add to our playoff roster to pick up the slack when Webber goes down, and who you think might not only have let us pull out that series, but might also have let us go on and pull out the title (sgain with all that might have meant for the Kings, Webber, Adelman, the arena etc.). Help us Obi Wan Kenobis.

Would go for Thorpe also, but my knowledge on some of those guys is limited to stat-checking etc..

Otis Thorpe without question. I know it would be a popular choice to say DeMarcus, but were talking about a world championship and replacing CWebb. If Cousins was in his 4th or 5th year, I might go with him, but if your going to win a championship, you can't afford mistakes, so I go with Otis. Otis was a hell of a player. Unfortunately he spent more time with Houston than with the Kings. Not a very good golfer though. I played in a foursome behind him one day at Auburn Valley Country Club. He could hit it a long way, but with little regard to where it landed.
