Isaiah Thomas watch

While we are on the IT being crazy on twitter subject, did anyone happen to see him complaining to the NBA 2k guy about his 80 rating in the new NBA 2k15 game? lol

A lot of guys joke about that. The NFL even has a video dedicated to telling NFL rookies their ratings in Madden and some have funny reactions.

And there's every indication Cousins might well HAVE said something at the time. Remember those "closed door" meetings? Just sayin'...

I seem to remember several different players saying in interviews that everybody on the team had to make sure that they were all running the play that the coach called. Cousins, JT, Gay, Thornton...hmm.

Good ol' IT is always going to be playing with that big monkey on his back, isn't he? Sigh. I too am glad he is another team's problem now, regardless of the talent.

And that's the crux of the matter. IT will never be able to get rid of his demons. He'll never be good enough for himself. He made it to the NBA. He made a name for himself and proved the naysayers wrong. He put up good numbers, albeit on a bad team. He signed a lucrative contract and has guaranteed the future of his family. He could now just strive to be the best teammate he can possibly be, but that won't even enter his consciousness. And it's a shame...

Seriously? That is epic funny hahaha

The "lol" is the dead giveaway. It's forced and awkward and apologetic, almost like he knows what he's saying is pathetic but he just can't help himself.

"The ball is moving a lot better. It’s not stuck in one place ..."

"It’s not being overdribbled by anybody on the floor"

It's an obvious jab at IT. Hell, it's the reason why you even posted those quotes in the first place. He could just say that the ball movement has been great and everyone is getting their shots...yada yada. Just because the comments are factual doesn't mean they aren't immature. If you're an ugly person and someone walks up to your face and calls you ugly, it's a factual statement but it's still immature.

This debate is pointless. Lets back up a guy making passive aggressive comments through the media and throw the guy on twitter in the fire who says "you should have said something". Take off the purple colored glasses people.

Cousins responded to a question about his current PG. But IT took ownership of what could have been perceived as a jab when he reacted on Twitter. Guilt complex? It's all speculation on our part until IT tells the whole world HE'S the one who over dribbled.

IT, find me a superstar worried about their 2k15 rating to validate their worth. Acy was telling you something. Hope you listened.

honestly, how is Isaiah gonna take playing maybe 25 minutes game in game out? I bet you the suns trade him before the deadline this year....just watch...

Whats the problem with IT's response to Cousins? If all he's saying is that Cousins should have said something last year, then what's the problem? You guys are getting way too TMZ on this.

The problem is that it's totally unprofessional.

It's not a "jab" at anyone. He's describing the reality. Just because the reality hurts someone's feelings does not make it a "jab". Cousins has the right to describe the reality without it being accused of taking a "jab" at a former teammate.

Ok sorry, tweet, verbal...whatever. The point still stands.

We're going to side with Cousins because he's a better player and because we agree with him that the ball stopped in IT's hands far too often. Point is that you don't throw out passive aggressive jabs at ex teammates.

You guys are acting like that ex teammate is immature while backing up an immature statement about him.

Wow. You really don't get it. IT was implicated. He was not the target of the statement. Cousins was asked directly about the difference in ball movement. He used the chance to praise his team. Good lord. IT's STANK is still lingering around here. It will waft away soon though.

And what he said is likely true! (If we don't assume he's lying about the new team performance). So Cousins speaks the truth yet again... and everybody gets their feelings hurt.

Man what in the world is this? IT seriously needs a friend to tell him not to put things like this out in the public. His ego is through the roof

Now that he's gone... it's shocking to see the contrast with the new Kings culture that is being built here. Crazy to think many/most of the fans around here wanted him to stay.

I don't think mgmt would have brought him back at ANY price. They obviously had more info on him than we did.

Hah. If Cousins did this people would be running to his defense saying it's not a big deal yadda yadda yadda. Fire! Passion! Look, he cares!

People don't like Isaiah Thomas, thats fine. I don't like some players, either.

I'm not defending him here, by the way. I just think some of the comments are comically hypocritical and borderline crazy. That tweet about the bank is lyrics to a song I've seen multiple NBA players tweet about. I don't know how anyone could ever think someone would say that with a serious tone. But it's Isaiah, so we'll call him out on it.

My reaction, quite simply, is who the hell cares?

The dude's no longer our problem now and is currently the third best point guard on his team. Would I rather he focus on something relevant to his current situation as opposed to randomly sniping at one of his former teammates on Twitter? Sure but that's for the Phoenix Suns to worry about now.

I wish him well but I certainly wouldn't be pushed to tears if he and the Phoenix Suns went together like Charlie Manson and psychiatry.

Yeah, but Cuz doesn't do stuff like this on twitter, responding to interviews other players do with the media on other teams, away from social media when his name isn't even mentioned. Actually, I can't think of any NBA player who's done something like this. Maybe JR Smith has and he rightly gets hammered for not acting professionally but with all the crazy s*** JR has put on twitter, I don't think even he responds to crap like this.

I'm not sure I understand the "if Cuz did this" as neither Cuz nor any player I know of responds in this manner, ever, on social media. And IT has done this kind of thing a number of times. Gotten into arguments with fans who've questioned him, got into an exchange with CarmichaelDave, etc.

It's not that big a deal, it's not our problem, but only a few months after letting him walk it makes sense a few around here are happy we don't have to put up with it anymore, especially when our new PG in Collison seems to be fully team first and culture appears to be important to our new regime.

BTW, if I was Pho, I'd be wondering why our new signing in his first week of camp is concerned with what another player on another team "might" think of him(given his name wasn't even mentioned), to the point he's taking it to social media instead of being fully committed to the new team. It'd be like seeking out your ex-girlfriend to dispute something she "might" have said about you, during your engagement party with your fiancee and letting everyone know you're still thinking about her.

I think we need to take DMC's answer with the filter of the coach's public statements as well. I think he is backing what his coach said they are looking for in the team and indicating that the camp is going well. Stuff like this from Malone:

After two days of training camp, everyone is saying and doing the right things, and the ball is moving too much sometimes, Malone said.

The Kings’ emphasis on ball movement, player movement and sharing will work only if players accept their roles, even if they aren’t shooting. Selfish play was a big problem for the Kings last season.

Malone is using drills to promote ball movement. He used some of those drills during summer league. There are situations in practice in which players are not allowed to dribble. In others, players are limited to two dribbles. So, the emphasis is on ball movement and sharing.

“We actually got to a point a few times where we were passing up wide-open shots to try to get an amazing shot,” Malone said. “And I don’t ever want to take guys of their shot. If you’re open, shoot it. But have a trust-the-pass mentality, have a play-for-each-other mentality.”

Cousins has 'said things' on twitter, and that is where I draw the line. After that, it's all the same to me. Did IT watch the video? I doubt it. Someone probably told him what was said and he went on and gave DeMarcus crap for it. Only IT wasn't afraid to @ him so he saw it. Of course, he deleted the tweet, so ..

It didn't take me very long to find this DeMarcus Cousins subtweet.

It's so many experts these days!

For examples outside of the Kings, I present this link of the best NBA twitter feuds. It happens. http://triangleoffense.com/lists/the-greatest-nba-twitter-feuds/

I put all of this under the same umbrella of stuff that doesn't matter. Well, it matters to a degree, but my takeaway from it wouldn't be 'so glad IT is gone!'

I don't have a real problem with any of it. Cousins was talking about Thomas. He didn't mention him by name, but what else was he talking about? The bulk of the roster is the same. I think IT is dumb to respond, but no dumber than I think any of the twitter nonsense is.

This doesn't change my opinion of anyone or any situation. I guess that is my point. I approve of IT's removal from this team for basketball reasons. That's it. And I do genuinely believe that if someone the fanbase liked said it, people would be lining up to make excuses for him. Not everyone, of course. I had a similar feeling when Kayte, who most of us really like, had the DUI incident last week. If that was Napear, I think there would have been a lot more criticism launched his way. I really don't want to compare the two, it's just the freshest example I can think of.

Hell, I'm probably guilty of doing this with Cousins in the past.
