Smart has said publicly that Tyreke is going to be the starting PG.
Smart says a lot of things.. It would be a step backwards to start Evans at PG at this point. Didn't smart say "later down the road" or something? I assume Evans will get to play PG when IT is on the bench which I am OK with because it's only 10-12 mins a game. I don't want Evans as the primary PG because............ Evans is not a PG........

Anyhow, before we all try to put Evans back at PG and other stupid stuff like that lets put Evans next to IT with a real SF in there (Outlaw or Williams). I have a feeling that team would be pretty hard to defend against, and we move Evans (not a good SF defender) to SG (where he would be a good defender) and MT (crappy defender) to the bench, and we have Williams (good defender) playing SF.

So we basically take two spots on the floor where we were sub par at defense and upgrade them drastically by moving one guy to the bench, and one guy from SF to SG. I think it will work, and I think the Kings will even be better offensively than they were last year.

If it means both our offense and defense will improve you can count on the organization to use every line up other than that one.

lol cmon people, IT is NOT starting guard material. i'm not saying he doesn't have skill. his size/skill would be better suited coming off the bench against 2 unit point guards.

Well that doesn't really make sense. I for one, believe that he IS starting guard material (remember he's only a rookie and is going to get better), but as you said would be better suited/ maximised coming off the bench on our current team. High-energy, fast paced guys are really best served leading the 2nd unit. The energy keeps the team in the game or builds on the lead while the starters are resting.

I agree, and I'll go one step further. I think the "starting" team was pretty hard to defend against last year. I think that when the bench came in there was a huge dropoff. If you make the changes you're talking about above and then add some bench strength your offense and defense should improve quite a bit. But you have to get commitment from the team on improving their defense (e.g. switching on pick and rolls and fun stuff like that) in order to make it work.
