Is Al Horford Kings target 2011??

With the over paid signing of Joe Johnson, Do you guys think Kings go hard after Al Horford?

I like Landry alot, but I think he is more of a energy guy/bench guy. Al Horford is a good rebounder, shotblocker, passer and his handles are pretty good for a big guy.

Do you think Tyreke, Horford and Cousins make you a playoff team? filling holes with a defensive 2 and 3 and an elite shooter?

I think Al Horford is a nice free agent Kings could get if he doesnt sign a extention and becomes a restricted free agent in 2011.

Dalembert and Landry both come off the books next year. With Cuz and JT on board, at least one is expendable, and both if we can sign someone like Horford. He's restricted, though, so we likely couldn't get him without severely overpaying.

Cousins is our future along with Reke.

I want Tyreke, Al, Cousins.

I meant one of Dalembert/Landry is expendable. We need a three-man big rotation, probably with a fourth off the bench for insurance. Landry would be nice to keep on a reasonable contract, as would Dally if he works out.

Guys...how would that work? We've already got so many big guys, and you are talking about us going after another? And a restricted guys as well? Talk about eating wiht your eyes. And I generally like Horford. Think he's somewhat overrated, but get him back to PF and he'd be a rock. But how many of Carl Landry (37.6min 18.0pts 6.5reb), Samuel Dalembert (25.9min 8.1pts 9.6reb 1.8blk), Jason Thompson (31.4min 12.5pts 8.5reb), and Hassan Whiteside (led nation in shotblocking with 5.4blks/gm in college) are you willing to burn/drop to get Al Horford (35.1min 14.2pts 9.9reb) on a huge contract?

Just a minute ago we dint have bigs, now were stacked. I agree.

I have to agree. But to be fair, Dalembert and Landry are both unrestricted free agents after this season so it's not like it's 100% impossible

yeah its something to think about next year for sure. I don't think Dalembert will require a huge pay day next season Landry on the other hand has been out performing his contract for a few years now and will likely want some bigger bucks next year. Question is does his talent level deserve a big pay day from us? Or do we pay a little more and go after a guy like Horford.

I think we are very set with our frontcourt and its one area that doesn't need addressing for the time being. Who knows what will happen by 2011 BUT if things stay as they currently are, we won't have the need for Al Horford.

We're stocked at the moment, but we're not sure that we have anything in Whiteside and with Landry and Dalembert expiring, it's not crazy to entertain the thought. I'd be willing to let the two FA's walk if it meant a frontcourt of Cousins/Horford/JT/Whiteside.

Exactly. But it does depend on how Whiteside develops, and to a certain extent, JT. We don't want to let Landry and Dally go without making sure those two are LEGIT. But if they are, better to stack the talent at the top four positions rather than five, covering the 4 and 5 slot. It would be real tough letting Landry go though. Maybe we go Cousins, Horford, Landry, Whiteside, Brockman, and trade JT for a draft pick. Nahhh... let's just keep them all!!

Because of this post, I'll say NO to Al Horford for now.

I am leaning more towards the cheaper Cousins/Dalembert/JT/Whiteside for the future and for NOW. Dalembert seems like he's got 5 more years left on his tank.

I wish. Put Horford at the pf spot where he belongs and he's an All-Star.

You let go or sign and trade Landry and Dalembert. Horford would primarily be a pf, but he's shown he can be a pretty good center when he's called upon. I don't see the problem.

Actually with Thompsons ability to play center, you could play Horford at his proper position and let Thompson back up Cousins. For the most part I think we should see how things play out this coming season. If the team seems to clicking on all cylinders by seasons end, especially in the frontcourt, then perhaps no move is the right move.
