Interesting Bulls notes...

Wow getting Allen or Pierce would be huge for the Bulls. I think Gordon is too small to be a starting 2 guard for a playoff team. He's kind of like Bobby Jackson, good to bring off the bench to play the 1 or 2.

Hey, why do you have Marcus Banks and Theron Smith under your signature? Just curious...

Because I like them, their talent, what they bring, and want them to get a good/solid spot in the league. Marcus Banks is seeming to be doing that ever since he got to Minny and out of young-PG-loaded-Boston (injury before season forced him to sit-out until mid-December), who really like him. More on that in the West thread and Bos/Min trade thread. Smith has been on loaded Memphis/Bobcat/Nugget teams, now in the DL.

Could say I think their underrated/overlooked or something like that also

Northwest Herald - John Paxson will consider making moves both big and small to shake up the Bulls before the Feb. 23 trade deadline.

"I like our young guys. I've said that over and over again," Paxson said. "They're good, hard-working kids. [But] I'm realistic and I want to improve our basketball team."

Paxson would like to add a proven low-post scorer, which the Bulls have lacked since dealing Eddy Curry to New York before the season. The team's problems in close games make it tempting to also add a proven star such as Boston's Paul Pierce.

But Paxson is hesitant to deal a young player such as Ben Gordon, who surely would have to go for the Bulls to bring in a player of Pierce's caliber. The Bulls' future appears bright with two potential lottery picks and $15 million in salary-cap space next summer, and Paxson might want to simply stay the course.

"I know our fans would like us to [improve]," Paxson said. "I'd rather it be sooner than later, but it may not be."

I'd love to get Chris Duhon or Gordon...

Well, interesting that they are definitely in the trade game. Unfortunately the only guy we have that really fits their need is Reef. MAYBE Bonzi, but that's a tough sell. And the main guy I of course have been lobbying for is likely one of their near untouchables. But if they are out looking, guess you could always try to put together a three team deal and see what happened.

Getting Chandler would be good (given that someone decides to reteach him a thing or two about coordination and spacial orientation, starting with which arm is and which is right) but I'd rather have:
Ben Gordon, Ben Gordon, Ben Gordon, Ben Gordon, Ben Gordon!!!
He is Bobby Jackson of the future. But better!

Sun Times - Bulls general manager John Paxson said he's been talking to many teams about trade scenarios with the NBA trade deadline six days away. However, it seems Paxson has been listening to some one-sided offers, Bulls coach Scott Skiles said.

"Around the league, we're in an enviable position,'' Skiles said before the Bulls' 117-84 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday. "We have good, young players. We have draft picks. We have money to spend. And yet we're in last place in our division. So it's just logical that people would call and gauge if we're getting jittery or if we feel a need to make some sort of big move.

"I know if John thought it made sense, he's not afraid to do something. On the other hand, we happen to like our young players and value them. So we're not going to do anything silly, either.''

Skiles also has some say in what moves Paxson may make.

"Those are all John's decisions -- he's the boss,'' Skiles said. "But we talk about it every day. I've yet to be saddled with a player without John asking me.''

"Trade rumors and speculation are the stock of All-Star weekend, and they continued to circulate. There have been some involving Indiana's Jermaine O'Neal, who is here but injured. Sports Illustrated even depicted him in a Bulls uniform in proposing a trade for Kirk Hinrich and a No. 1 pick. It is not under discussion, though O'Neal said he could see a time he would be traded."

"We've had a team generally set to win it," (Jermaine O'Neal) said. "Situations happened that tore our team apart a little bit. I've heard rumors. No player can get too comfortable in this league. If they feel I cannot get it done, I'll try to go somewhere else and get it done."

Getting JO would be just what the Bulls need... I'd love to see it.

Duhon
Gordon
Deng
JO
Chandler

Just would need to sign a big SG or draft one.
