Injuries (Bonzi and Peja Out)

KINGS’ BONZI WELLS AND PEJA STOJAKOVIC
EXPECTED TO MISS GAMES DUE TO INJURIES

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – Sacramento Kings’ guard Bonzi Wells is expected to miss approximately three to four weeks of action due to a partial tear in his right groin, it was revealed by an MRI taken in Sacramento Tuesday afternoon (12-20).

Wells, who suffered the injury midway through the first quarter of Sacramento’s 106-103 overtime loss at Charlotte Monday night (12-19), is currently averaging 15.1 points (.476 FGs, .227 3FGs, .670 FTs), 7.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game in 25 starts.

Kings’ forward Peja Stojakovic is expected to miss a minimum of one week due to a protruding disc in his lower back. He is currently averaging 17.0 points (.413 FGs, .425 3FGs, .923 FTs), 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in 22 starts. Stojakovic spent three games on the Inactive List due to a sprained fifth metacarpal.

I hope Peja's injury is real. A bulging disc would explain a lot. It's darn near impossible to play through it.

Of course, they could be sitting him before a trade with a "phantom" injury.

Jesus christ! This is terrible.

Even more of a reason why we should of gotten/get a vet. swingman.

So, our line-up for a bit:

Bibby
Martin
Garcia/Corliss/KT (I'd think Garcia)
SAR
Brad

Not going to expect a lot, just going to watch things. Good that can come outta this is consistent PT (as in getting minutes consistently) for Garcia/Martin. Unless we do, indeed, make a move or two.

I think Peja is gone. This is a reason to not play him until he gets traded this week. I can gaurantee you that 85% of the people on this board have a protruding disk....

I just merged the two threads on the same topic (one titled Injuries, the other Bonzi and Peja out). So maybe a slightly fractured narrative -- get it? Slightly fractured? :p I slay myself.

I'm pretty sure I don't have a protruding/bulging Disc. Those hurt like an SOB. My mom had 3 before she had to finally have a surgery. If that is what Peja has, a week may rest it, but it does not heal it. And, to make a phantom injury just to sit him makes no sense. You'd play him right up until you traded him, just like you did with Webber and Christie.

Peja's trade value just plummeted. No one wants his back injury, not for anyone good.

What's weird to me, and this is the only place I give the guy who said this is about a trade merit, is that when there is news like this you hear it the day before on the radio, because the paper comes out the next day. If Peja is injured today, he was injured yesterday. No word about this on Sportsline, or the showgram. Then it pops up in the paper today. Something just doesn't seem right.

It also doesn't add up that they would sit him, because they were going to trade him and it wouldn't leak to the media. I mean if Peja isn't injured and they sit him, he goes what the ****. Unless they say hey we have a trade in mind this the trade, are you ok with it?? If so, just sit out for a week with a phantom injury, and injury he has had before. Remember when he had problems with his lower back?? And, the trade will go down next week.I could see Petrie taking care of Peja in this fashion, making sure he's ok with the trade, since Peja is like his son. But, still why sit him down before the trade. They didn't with Webber or Christie.

There are a lot of strange factors going on here that contradict themselves.

IMO, I think this is the best time to tank your season no offense I want this team to do something but there not good enough to turn things around.

Something definitely doesn't add up. A back injury like that would have been an issue for Peja yesterday, and I saw no signs of something like that.

I did. Check the PBP thread. I wasn't sure what had happened, but I definitely saw Peja in pain...

Fair enough...I must have missed it.

I think I was turning away in disgust so often that I missed a lot.

This isn't a bleeping video game.

Tanking the season is for losers who have no pride in themselves or their fans, especially when there's more than half the season left to play.

I don't care if they end up 30-52. I do NOT want to see them dog it just to get a better draft pick. ONE bleeping draft pick is not going to make a championship team. You need all the components. Look at the Cavaliers. They have arguably the best pick to come along in years and I don't remember seeing them in the NBA finals.

If people cannot support the team any longer, fine. Then find another team to support. But to continually act like this team has failed to live up to your personal expectations is just ludicrous.
