I'm on the Moreland band wagon. Are you?

Are you on the Moreland bandwagon?

He could play a Keon Clark type center behind Cousins but it would really depend on matchups. Thompson is essentially the only guy currently on the roster that has the requisite size to play center other than Boogie.

I'll be curious to see if Malone plays a healthy Landry (who he has a history with) as the starting PF or not. Other than that the only real position battle is at the SG spot.

If Thompson is eventually dealt (and given the rumors at the deadline and during the offseason I have to assume they are actively trying to trade him) then Moreland (if signed) has to be the backup center by default.
With a player like Moreland the goal for us will always be to see if he can play NEXT to Cousins as opposed to behind him. Can he hit a midrange shot? Will he be able to pick up on Malone's defensive schemes? Those are the questions that need to be answered.

The fact that no one knows what team Moreland signed on to yet is another subliminal indicator that is it the Kings. They don't want to make it official yet because they have more moving pieces and cap issues than most teams right now. The Casspi thing isn't official. They had to extend the Acy deadline. They are still trying to figure out what to do with Terry. I feel like a lot of little money maneuvering is going on behind the scenes, and I think the delay is a good sign that Moreland just needs to wait for the cap guys to finish finding his money.

Well he's made his choice according to him so I doubt it's changed (unless of course the team pulls the plug on him)

Kind of how I'm reading the situation too. Then again, I'm an optimist.

Kudos to Kings fans and the Kings FO for recognizing the potential of Eric Moreland!

I believe Moreland will be a great rotation player and may become a starter, defensive stalwart to play alongside DMC for the next decade.

What is great is the BBIQ of Kings fans and FO to not just buy into the hype of all the high draft picks in Summer League and actually let their eyes see how special Moreland can become.

There was virtually no press by the national media on Moreland or the Kings summer league team, yet Kings fans and FO was able to see talent and get them signed!

Give this kid a couple of years and I think he will be something special on defense!
